SMA Baby Food in General

With my first son I tried to breastfeed but after about 10 weeks I gave up. So when it came to choosing a baby formula to use instead I reached for SMA. The main reason I did this was the well known brand name. Even though I hadn't had much contact with children before, I knew of SMA and I knew what the packaging looked like. When it came to bottle feeding my daughter I didn't consider any other brand of milk other than SMA Gold. I think this purely cause it's the only milk I had really heard of or seen being used. I was really disappointed with this product, my daughter was constantly constipated, constantly hungry and generally was miserable for the first couple of weeks. I am a mum to three young children. When I was pregnant for the first time I used SMA gold as thats what my friends baby was on. I was only 20 at the time and didn,t know anything about baby milk or anything about babies to be honest. Since my son had SMA gold and I found that I had no problems with the milk I have used SMA for both my other children. There is information on the tin to tell you how to make the feed up and the average amount of milk and feeds your baby should be having from birth to the age of 1. When I was pregnant loads of people recommended SMA gold. I guess that this is a product that has been around a long time and has been used by mothers for years (perhaps before other brands of baby formula were available). So not knowing any better I bought a tin of SMA gold for my baby as a back up (I had intended to breast feed but this didn't come off). I have used SMA with both of my babies. My Daughter was breast fed for a week and then put on to SMA Gold until she was 4 months old and then she moved on to SMA white. My Son was breastfed for 3 weeks and then put on to SMA gold for one week only as he was very hungry and had to be put on to the white. I have never had a problem with this milk. Both of my babies grew at the rate they were expected to and never had any colic/constipation issues.
