Chicco Giraffe Teething Rattle
by Gemma87 I was bought this as a present when I had my baby boy and boy was it a life-saver at times! The Chicco Giraffe teething rattle is nice and brightly coloured being mainly yellow with bright blue spots on. It has a smiling face which my little boy loved and used to giggle at. I have since seen the rattle on sale in many shops ... such as Boots and at only £2.99 it really is a bargain! The body of the giraffe is the handle and it isn't too thick and the hole is nice and big so it makes it nice and easy for their little hands to hold onto it. The actual head of the giraffe turns and as it does it clicks. This was another feature my little boy loved and for months all we would hear would be the clicking giraffes head! When shook the teeth also rattles and this is good as it also gives something to distract your baby from the pain of there teeth. The plastic is quite hard and so it really does give your baby something to gnaw on while in pain. Not only this but as there teeth come through it stands up to the biting their little teeth have as some of the other softer plastic ones split which wasn't great! Now my boy is 2 he no longer needs this teether although he does like to sometimes rattle it and so it has been passed onto my 8 month old daughter who also loved this. She is teething at the moment and so it comes out everywhere with us as it really does help sooth her whether it's shaking it around so it rattles or by chewing the giraffes head. I would highly recommend this. Read the complete review |

Chicco Giraffe Teething Rattle
by emmad5689 Before Christmas last year I was looking around the usual bargain stores and found this in Home Bargains for £1.99, having a baby that was going to be 3 months at Christmas I thought this would be ideal gift. The rattle is available to buy for around £5 - £6 in the usual places such as Mothercare or online. The rattle is ... suitable from 3 month although I can't see what damage it could do to a younger baby and think the age guideline is really only as this is when they will be able to try and grasp the rattle. The rattle is bright yellow and made of soft rubber at the bottom and hard plastic at the head, the head of the giraffe has a clear face with big eyes and a large mouth open in a big grin showing a little red tongue inside. Around the giraffes neck here is a cricle of red plastic which can be moved round and then there is the giraffe's body which is actually open as this is where the baby can hold onto the rattle. There are some blue spots on the bottom half for detailing and then two rubbery feet at the bottom. Yje rattle came on a cardboard backing sheet with a plastic covering over it at the front so you simply had to rip or cut the packet to release the rattle and then dispose of the packet. The rattle is a decent size to make it easy for little hands to deal with, the head moves round full circle and makes a clicking noise as it does and then the rattle makes a bog standard rattle sound when shook. The bottom half is made of rubber to give teething babies some relief which I think is a lovely little extra for the price you are paying. My daughter loves this rattle and has played with it from the time she got it and is still playing with it now at 10 months old, she love chomping on it so think it must be easing her gums poor little things hasn't got any teeth yet and her sister also enjoys rattling it for her and making her giggle. I think this is a lovely rattle, it looks like a really cheeky character and is attractive to baby, I would buy this for a gift for anyone with a young baby and it is really worth the money especially at the price I paid. Chicco Elephant Teething Blanket
by kellylouj My local Home Bargains is amazing for baby items with the prices of the toys being the cheapest around. When I was in the latter stages of pregnancy I spotted the teething blankets which are suitable from birth. The blanket was £3.49 and consists of a soft, flat shaped elephant with a small teething ring to the corner, the ... green ear also rustles to keep baby entertained with the noise. As a first time parent I had no idea what to expect and what to buy but I had heard of Chicco items and thought this would be a wise investment as the packaging stated that it doubled up as a comforter for the baby. The elephant itself is very soft and lightweight and is easy enough for the tiniest of hands to get a grip. The toy doesn't take up much space either when it comes to preparing for going out and you need something to keep baby entertained. Our son loves this little blanket and as it is small and compact its easy for him to keep hold of and even snuggle up to to provide reassurance. To clean the toy I tend to put it on a handwash setting in the washing machine to make sure it is clean but for everyday use I just use an anti bacterial wipe to clean the plastic ring. Admittedly there is not much to this toy but my baby finds it a real comfort and insists that we take it everywhere or he screams blue murder! A handy little item to have and I am glad it wasn't the RRP price that I paid which is £6.99 and currently available from Amazon. Read the complete review |
