When my kids were teething I tried loads of different gels and powders in an attempt to relieve their pain and discomfort but I always went back to Anbesol as the most effective and easy to use.

Anbesol contains something called lidocaine hydrochloride, which is a local anaesthetic and will numb the pain caused by teething, ulcers and denture problems as well as general toothache. It also has an antiseptic in it which will help to heal things like ulcers if this is what you are experiencing.

I found the easiest and best thing about Anbesol was the fact that is was a liquid, rather than a gel. I could tip it up against my finger and then wipe the liquid round my children's gums and it wouldn't slide straight off, like the gels did. It coated the area I applied it and kind of sank into the skin, meaning it targeted where it was needed and gace almost instant relief to my children.

They didn't mind the taste and would smack their lips (toothless style) when I applied it.

It comes in at around the £4.00 mark for a smallish bottle but as you only need a couple of tips each application, it will last a while and as it has excellent benefits it is well worth the money.
