Advantages: soaks straight into the gums for instant pain relief

Disadvantages: none

My baby started teething at 10 weeks, so I bought some calgel which is very good and was very effective, BUT now he is older he sucks the gel straight off my finger when I try to apply it and swallows it, so it has no effect at all.

I went to Boots Pharmacist and was recommended liquid Anbesol, now I would never go back to any of the gels.

As it is a liquid you're baby cannot swallow it and it does not slip off the gums. As soon as you apply it it soaks straight into the gums and provides instant pain relief.

It has antiseptic and anaesthetic in it, so can be used for mouth ulcers and denture irritation as well as teething. I have, on occasions, used this myself for toothache. The results are amazing, it really is instant pain relief, it numbs your gums and stops the pain.

For adults you can apply twice up to 8 times a day, but for baby's only apply once up to 8 times a day, and ALWAYS make sure you leave 1/2 gap in between applications.

To apply use a clean fingertip, dap some of the liquid (undiluted) onto it and then rub gently across your baby's gums

It comes in a little bottle (6.5 ml)and is a very reasonable price.

If you do want something stonger still, for yourself (NOT CHILDREN), anbesol liquid is available for adults.

My sons main problem with teething was a high temp and horrible nappies! The teeth didn't seem to be causing him much pain at all!
