Advantages: Waterproof, gentle on skin, great protection

Disadvantages: Sticky on hands, stains white clothing yellow

I bought this sun cream earlier in the year when Avon first released their sun creams for the year as I like to be prepared and make sure my children have a new one every year as research shows that the effectiveness of a suncream decreases with the age of the product and I am not taking any risks with my children.

As Avon had only just released the products for the year they were on a half price offer when I bought them although I will admit I never buy anything full price from Avon. The suncream is usually £10 a tube however I only ended up paying £5 for a tube which contains 75mls of product.

The cream comes in a squeezy tube with a flip top lid on the bottom, the tube is bright yellow in colour this season and has pictures of bright little fishes on it. The suncream is factor 50 which is what I always buy for my children and it has a really nice bubblegum scent to it.

The cream is a pretty thick consistency which is good in one respect as it doesn't drip all over when you are trying to apply it however it does mean that it is sometimes a little hard to rub in. When I have applied this cream to my children their skin feels soft and is scented nicely however it does leave my hands feeling really sticky.

The cream must be goods at protecting my children since neither one of them has even been pink when using it and when I gave it to my Mam to use on them she didn't do my eldest neck at the back as she presumed her hair would protect her and she was left pretty pink where it hadn't been used. The suncream is waterproof too so is suitable for on the beach although I do always reapply when the children have been in the paddling pool.

A big drawback of this cream for me is that it turns my daughters school polo shirts yellow around the collar and her socks around the frill and it doesn't wash out, I have started putting her suncream on before her clothes now however when reapplying it you need to be careful not to get it on white items.

I would give this sun cream 4 out of 5 simply because of the issue with white clothing and considering it doesn't wash out either I think this aspect is pretty bad.

Summary: A good scuncream shame about the staining
