“ Brand: Boots / Health Aid: Teething Rings & Gels „
We bought the boots teething powders on recommendation from a friend who had used them and said they worked best out of anything she had tried. As our daughter was teething quite badly now we decided to give these a go as the teething gel we were using wasn't having great effects like it used to.
These boots teething powders are homoeopathic which is great as they are completely natural, they come in small handy sachets in 1 dose sizes in boxes of 20 sachets for £4.99. The small sachets are ideal and i always have a few in the changing bag when we are out and about, quick and easy to give without having to measure out medicine doses.
The first time i gave my daughter one of these it was not very successful as i could not get her to open her mouth wide enough for long enough to tip the contents of the sachet in, hence in went all over her face and looked like she was covered in icing sugar! We persevered and my fiancee was much better at doing it then me, when the powders did get into her mouth you could see it was pretty much instant relief for her. They are tiny tiny granules which dissolve when in the mouth and as they chew and move their mouths around so the powder is spread around their mouth, i guess it must give a numbing feeling all over to provide some relief from the pain.
My daughter now quite happily lays with mouth open whenever she sees us get a sachet out, she must know that this is going to make her feel better. They can only be given every 2 hours and generally the powders will keep the pain at bay for this long and normally lots longer.
I feel these are quite expensive for what they are but a packet can last a fair amount of time depending on how bad the teething is, we use these in conjunction with gel and teething rings etc so are not giving her medicine as such all of the time. Being boots own brand ones is no problem as they do the job just fine and other brands are even more expensive whilst doing the same thing.
A great teething remedy to have when it starts getting bad.
Boots teething pain relief
With little grandson being at that age when the teething process atarts in earnest, we began to have a look around at some of the pain relief products available, preferably homeopathic. I remembered that when my children were young I used teething granules, so knew there must be something natural on the market.
**What are they?**
These are basically granules which can be given to babies and infants for the relief of teething problems. They do contain chamomile which if used in the correct dosage can relieve teething pain.
**Product and Packaging**
The blue box has instructions and information on the back and when I open up the box there are 24 small sachets each one with instructions on them, and a small information leaflet.
The sachets themselves are in pairs and separated by the perforated edge. They are easy to open and thankfully don't need scissors- I can never find a pair when I need them! The granules themselves are white, fine particles without any smell and I did have a taste and although I can't taste anything, i'm sure baby knows they are in his mouth.
**How to use them...**
Firstly, ensure baby isn't allergic to any of the ingredients, although I imagine this is quite a tricky one to know since it's probably the first time a little one will have "met" the ingredients. Check that the packaging is not broken and if it is, then discard the sachet. To administer the granules, put into baby's mouth and let the fact that they are then difficult to spit out because of moisture ensure they stay there. A sachet can be given every 2 hours up to a maximum of 6 sachets in 24 hours.
**Price and Availability**
These are available instore at Boots the Chemist (I haven't been able to get them online) and cost £4.70 for 24 sachets.
As mentioned earlier i did use similar when my children were teething, and again, as then, they seem to work. Granted little one is too young to tell us if the pain has stopped but once he has taken these, the red cheeks and general grumbles tend to subside. I find that they are best used in conjunction with calpol or similar especially at night when teething pains seem to be more of a problem. Like medicine they are not the easiest thing to administer because we have to wait for him to open his mouth. However, unlike medicine, once in his mouth they are very difficult to spit out because they seem to start to dissolve almost immediately.
For anyone looking for a natural remedy for teething pain then I would recommend these.
Thanks for reading.
I bought Boots homeopathic teething granules after reading an advert for the slightly more expensive Nelson version. I opted for the Boots ones because I trust their own brand products to be up to scratch- I wasn't let down. I'm not sure how these granules work, as I haven't tried them out myself, but I suspect they numb the baby's gums and so soothe the pain for a while. I find that using them in conjunction with teething gel and Calpol works best. At the first sign of a tooth breaking through I dose my son up! As the granules are homeopathic, there isn't much chance of an adverse reaction. They can be used every two hours for up to six doses which is great if your baby is restless at night due to teething. The only downside is that it can be quite difficult getting them into a baby's mouth- unless they're screaming then you just tip the sachet down their throat!
i started using Boots Granules about a couple of months after my son starting teethingafter a friend highly recommended them to me. If you have a baby who is teething then youmust go out and buy these if you want your baby to be happy again. They are an absolutegodsend. It is a homeopathic remedy and I highly rate these type of remedies for usewith anybody who has children or babies. They are completely natural and they have noside effects which is a major plus factor too! You use one sachet every couple of hours. Just pour thesachet into baby's mouth and hey presto! You really need to give these a go. I would notbe without them.
Like most babies our son was a terrible teether, he would cry and cry which made us feel very helpless as parents,we tried giving him calpol and teething medicine bit felt that we were drugging him then we discovered Boots teething granules, they come in little sachets and they turned our lives around, because they are homeopathic we felt better about giving them and the cammomile in them would calm our crying son almost instantly, espcially in the middle of the night!
