Boots teething pain relief

With little grandson being at that age when the teething process atarts in earnest, we began to have a look around at some of the pain relief products available, preferably homeopathic. I remembered that when my children were young I used teething granules, so knew there must be something natural on the market.

**What are they?**

These are basically granules which can be given to babies and infants for the relief of teething problems. They do contain chamomile which if used in the correct dosage can relieve teething pain.

**Product and Packaging**

The blue box has instructions and information on the back and when I open up the box there are 24 small sachets each one with instructions on them, and a small information leaflet.

The sachets themselves are in pairs and separated by the perforated edge. They are easy to open and thankfully don't need scissors- I can never find a pair when I need them! The granules themselves are white, fine particles without any smell and I did have a taste and although I can't taste anything, i'm sure baby knows they are in his mouth.

**How to use them...**

Firstly, ensure baby isn't allergic to any of the ingredients, although I imagine this is quite a tricky one to know since it's probably the first time a little one will have "met" the ingredients. Check that the packaging is not broken and if it is, then discard the sachet. To administer the granules, put into baby's mouth and let the fact that they are then difficult to spit out because of moisture ensure they stay there. A sachet can be given every 2 hours up to a maximum of 6 sachets in 24 hours.

**Price and Availability**

These are available instore at Boots the Chemist (I haven't been able to get them online) and cost £4.70 for 24 sachets.

**Verdict**

As mentioned earlier i did use similar when my children were teething, and again, as then, they seem to work. Granted little one is too young to tell us if the pain has stopped but once he has taken these, the red cheeks and general grumbles tend to subside. I find that they are best used in conjunction with calpol or similar especially at night when teething pains seem to be more of a problem. Like medicine they are not the easiest thing to administer because we have to wait for him to open his mouth. However, unlike medicine, once in his mouth they are very difficult to spit out because they seem to start to dissolve almost immediately.

For anyone looking for a natural remedy for teething pain then I would recommend these.

Thanks for reading.

We used to use these when my daughter was teething and my wife swore by them. Thanks for the reminder! 8^)
