Advantages: inexpensive, works, small in size
Disadvantages: only comes in 15ml sprays
In our central heating riddled culture more and more people are getting colds and flu because of the change from cold outside to the hot dry rooms inside. My little boy has had a bit of a stuffy nose because in the cold and snowy weather it is the norm for me to keep my heating on to make sure he doesn't get poorly. This causes the poor little mite to get all bunged up, snore when he is asleep and struggle to breathe when he is having a bottle.
This nasal spray is suitable from birth, is widely available in most stores and costs roughly £2.50 dependant on where you buy it from. All you have to do is pop it to the side of the nostril (don't point it directly up the nostril as it can cause problems) and squirt it twice and then repeat in the other nostril. With it's small size it is easy to keep one of these in the changing bag so you always have it with you too.
I found it cleared my little boy's nose well with an individual use and kept the stuffiness at bay for a couple of hours before it needed repeating. I also found that used in conjunction with a nasal aspirator it completely cleared his nose and we were able to keep on top of it for him.
Summary: would recommend.
