We have been using calpol with my daughters since they were two months old, the latest use i have had for this has been over the last couple of weeks wholst they have both had chicken pox to reduce there temperatures so i thought it was about time i told the rest of the world how great this is.

I have always used the sugar free version as i was concerned when they were very young about the sugar on there teeth and have never seen the point of changing over to the added sugar version when they will both happily take this version.

Although the box and bottle both clearly state that this calpol is suitable from 2 months old it is also based on your babys weight, they need to weigh more than 4kg so isnt suitable for all 2 month old babies especially babies who were born prematurely, the box also states that you should not give more than two doses of calpol to a baby under 3 months old without consulting your doctor.

The medicin is strawberry flavoured and neither of my children have ever objected to the taste, it is a pain and fever relieving medication that can be given at 4 hourly intervals to children over 3 months of age but no more than 4 doeses in 24 hours.

A 100ml bottle cost me £2.92

As i said previously we have been using this for 6 years now off and on with the children when they are unwell, our first use was when my daughters had there first injections at two months old to reduce the fever brought on by the injections, we used it for all the other vaccinations too. It was brilliant for reducing temperatures when my youngest had an ear infection and taking away the pain for her, it helps with teething pain in my 6 year old too as her second teeth are coming through and also helped reduce there temperatures when they were teething as babies.

This is a must have in our medicin box and i would recomend it to any parent with a young child.
