Advantages: Effective medicine that really works.

Disadvantages: Expensive for a 100ml bottle that doesn't last long.

Having three young children with lots of illnesses and many injections to have, I have gone through many bottles of Calpol over the last 5 years. I don't always give my children Calpol because I will often take them to the doctors and get them paracetemol on prescription, some doctors are generous and will prescribe you a big bottle which will last ages where as other doctors only give you enough medicine to see out the illness. I don't really see why you shouldn't be able to get paracetemol for your child whenever they are poorly, especially when it is so expensive to buy.

When I'm not using medicine from the doctors the one and only brand I will buy is Calpol, you can buy shops own brand but I prefer to buy a brand with a good reputation, the best on the market. Especially when it is for a young sick child. A 100ml bottle costs £2.74 but I recently bought a bottle from Tesco for just £1.50 which is almost half price.

Calpol Infant Suspension is suitable from just 2 months which is great because babies have to have injections age 2, 3 and 4 months, this can cause them to feel slightly unwell and can give them a temperature. The health visitor always advises you give them some Calpol, most medicines are not suitable for such young babies so it is great that you can give them Calpol.

Not only can you give Calpol for a fever but it will also relive pain, I have often given this to my boys when they are teething because this can be such a horrible time for babies. I think the thing that is so great about Calpol is that it is really effective. In my experience I have found that Calpol does a fantastic job in treating temperatures and it really does a great job at perking up a sick child. It is horrible when your child is unwell so it is very important that you have a medicine that works, Calpol is that medicine.

This particular type of Calpol is only suitable for up to 6 years but they do have other alternatives for when your child is older. It also comes in a strawberry flavour, this is great as nobody wants to give their child a medicine that tastes horrible and that they won't want to have, all of my boys think this medicine tastes really nice.

Calpol Infant Suspension comes in a purple box which is easy to spot in the supermarket. On the side of the box there are instructions about the right dosage. Inside the box there is also an information leaflet which is more informative and definitely worth reading before you give your child this medicine. You also get a measuring spoon inside the box, I seem to have loads of these now.

This medicine is the perfect medicine to give your child when they are in pain or have a fever, effective results every time.
