Advantages: works a treat, tastes great
Disadvantages: quite expensive
I absolutely adore my niece to the moon and back, and when she's staying at my house I'll bend over backwards to keep her entertained (even if that means having Peppa Pig on repeat and covering my walls in chocolate yoghurt!) Recently she's not been keeping very well, and her Mum said that calpol has been a savior for her so I popped out to buy some to keep in my cupboard for when the little monster comes over to stay.
I went into my local asda and picked up a bottle of calpol for £3.96, not a massive expense on my part but it's quite expensive when you have other baby essentials to buy such as nappies, nappy bags, wipes etc. I can remember calpol when I was younger and the best part of being unwell was tasting that delicious syrup calpol! My niece seems to love the taste and has no problems taking it (even when she's grumpy) and I think that it's a good idea to purchase the sugar free version as she's only 18 months and her little teeth are coming through so minimising any damage to them is peace of mind.
Calpol is overall a great product, it can be used when baby has a temp, aches, pains, colds and even when he/she is teething. My niece can be a grumpy terror when she's unwell and calpol soothes her like a treat! I would recommend this product but I would probably steer towards supermarket own brands of suspensions as calpol can be quite an expense on the tight budget that comes with having a child! I would advise before purchasing to consult with your doctor to ensure that your child is going to take well to the medicine and as always, take care when using and use the recommended doses for your child's appropriate age.
