When I was pregnant I often picked up many big brand products at discounted prices and the Chicco Teething rattle was one of those buys that I kept seeing but wasn't sure if it was something the baby would need but when he arrived and we knew teething would be not too far away I decided to purchase this at just £1.49 from my local Home Bargains.

As this was my first baby I was oblivious to what I would need and just bought what I thought would be an ideal purchase. As we were having a boy we had decided on a Jungle theme so the fact that this was a Giraffe was ideal.

Teething I knew was going to be one of the testing times of parenthood and thought as this was also a rattle it may help in distracting him as the head of the giraffe could be turned 360 degrees and the rattle was contained within the head of the giraffe so it was likely to keep him occupied.

The Teething rattle is suitable from ages 3 months and upwards which in my opinion to give it to a baby younger than that would be somewhat mad as it is fairly robust and the plastic could hurt you or the baby if some light force was used.

The rattle is yellow with blue spots and the ring around the giraffes neck is pink admittedly I did not notice this when I purchased it and have since seen this available with purple and red rings around the rattle. It keeps him entertained with the rattle sound and I do believe it distracts him from the pain as he is really intrigued by the rattling noise and the clicking as the head turns.

My son particuarly likes that bottom of the rattle to chew on as well as the top of the giraffes head! It is easy to grip to the sides and also he holds it by the giraffes head.

This is one of the best bargain purchases I have made as wherever he goes so does this, he loves the bright colours and combined with the rattle noise and clicking he is forever playing with it.
