The fisher price apple teether is a lovely little item used by our toddler to bite and chew whenever the teething process becomes an interminable bubble of red cheeks, dribble and tears.
It is essentially a gel filled apple shape with a yellow ring handle which little one can carry around, or which can be placed on an activity centre or pram handle for little one to chew on, the apple has a smiling face and a wonderful red colour which is very appealing with a small green hairstyle.
It can be placed in the fridge to make it cold and solid to make it even more appealing to a child who has painful gums. Having given it a chew myself (for testing purposes obviously) it has a solid chewy consistency, it isn't hard and it isn't soft enough to move when touched, it is solid but with enough give to allow a tenacious toddler to gnaw away to their hearts content. The lovely little handle means they can also carry it around and be happy that their little chewy toy comes with them.
We have got more out of this in the 18 month-2 year old period that we did during the initial stages, it is around 5cm by 5cm so our little one is now bigger than it is and finds it easier to hold but also the consistency would make this difficult to bite for any child with only 1-2 teeth.
It can be found on ebay for around £9 or £6 on Amazon, be aware that it is fairly large and quite solid so you might perhaps want to be sure your child is ready for it before buying this item. We've found it useful, easy to store and good value, but I've read some reviews saying it is too large or too hard for some children s teething stages, I think they might be using them too early, but obviously each child experiences different things, so you may wish to research if this is for you before buying.
My Mum bought this teether for my daughter and it was one of the better more used teethers she had. The teether is made by Fisher Price and can be found in a number of online shops including Amazon as well as being able to purchase it from Babies R Us.
My daughter really loved this teether from the minute she saw it. It is a nicely sized bright red apple with a smiley and happy face on it. It is a flat teether but has a rounded shape like a real apple would. It has a nice little handle at the side for your baby to hold which has raised bumps on it so it doubles up as an area for your child to chew on too. The top of the apple has a ring which has raised bits on it so is chewable as well as a child being able to hold it from here and then two little leaves which are a darker and lighter green again with raised bumps on them. The teether is also a rattle.
It is made from a hard plastic and was highly durable. Also, my daughter chewed and chewed on it and no bits ever came off which was nice and reassuring as to the high standard it is made from.
My daughter found this teether very easy to hold and it was just the right size for her.
My daughter would always chew the leaves and I used to watch her rub them on here gums. She also used to chew the flat edge. This ended up with considerable chew marks!
This was the one teether she would take everywhere with her. She used to really like it and would always point at the face of it to show me!
This was a really good teether and the fact that my daughter loved it makes it even more worthy of recommendation. It is also made by Fisher Price which is a nice reputable brand. I found that the teether did sooth my daughter's chewing needs and she was quite happy to chomp on this teether.
This Fisher Price teether is an excellent product. My niece has one as she has been teething for a while now. She has certainly found great comfort from this cute red apple shaped teether from Fisher Price. Infact, she has abandoned all her other toys, and sits for ages just knawing on this teether.
What I love about this teether is the design. Not only does it look really appealing with the apples big smiley face and happy impression. It also has great aspects within it's design that certainly make it more of a hit with little ones. Firstly, there is an easy to grip handle on the side. My niece uses this handle in order to get a tight grip on the apple shaped teether. She seems to be very comfortable when using this handle and also loves shaking the teether to make a rattling sound.
The top of the apple teether, situated on the green leaves are quite large ridges. This is where my niece loves to rub against her gums. It does offer her a great deal of comfort. The ridges are a good size, they are very soft in nature, so I feel very comfortable with her using this.
There is also a bright yellow ring at the top of the apple teether. This can be used to attach the teether to various items such as a pram or cot. I have to remark that because my niece is quite heavy handed with this apple teether, the yellow ring was not able to keep it's grip on the pram and kept coming loose, which was slightly disappointing.
I think this teether is a great friendly looking product. It certainly both amuses and attracts my niece whilst also providing her with gentle relief from the irritation of teething. This fisher proce apple teether is easy to keep clean a gentle wash in soap and water and it is as good as new. Although it has been bashed around, it still manages to keep it's colour and lovely appearance.
This product is from Fisher price. The fisher price brand always makes me feel comfortable within the quality of thier products. This company has been manufacturing toys for children for many decades and I trust it totally. All items from fisher price always seem to me o go that extra mile as far as design and workmanship are concerned. Offering a better quality for a very reasonable price. This teether was around £5 and I think that is excellent value when considering how much my niece has used this item.
My mother in law bought this for my son when he was just starting to teeth and he loved it immediately. It is a big red apple. It is quite flat but has a slight curve to it. It is about the size of the palm of my hand. The handle on one side has nobbley bits that make it easy to grip. My son always holds it by the handle because it is a very flat smooth plastic and so would be difficult for little hands to hold if it was not for the handle.
The leaves at the top of the apple have little raised dots all over them. My son tends to use this part to chew on more than the apple. I guess the different texture is interesting for him and soothing as well. There is a slight rattle in the leaves that he likes to listen to.
The hoop at the top makes a good extra handle and can be used to hang the apple toy from a play gym.
We put ours away once my son had gotten over his teething episode and I got it out the other days and his little face lit up and he started clapping his hands. He's now 8 months old.
It's definitely worth buying. It was only about three pound from amazon I think.
This cute apple shaped teether has an easy to grasp handle. Your baby will love playing with this rattling smiley faced apple.
