Advantages: Only product to cure my daughters stubborn ezcema, great moisturiser
Disadvantages: Pricey compared to alternatives
I always try to keep my reviews personal rather then too descriptive as I personally benefit from knowing people's personal views on a product rather then the details I can goggle and find.
My daughter suffered from ezcema very badly as I child and I just wish I had discovered this fabulous cream since it began when she was a couple of months old. I tried every cream from the market, whether my gp prescribed it or I would search online and try out each product until a friend recommended to simply try Oilatum Junior cream.
Oilatum tends to come in two or three sizes, 125ml and 500ml and a big 1050ml (which is not available everywhere). The prices for the 125g varies in places such as some pharmacies I see it for £8-£10, but I have noticed Sainsburies sell it for a cheaper price compared to these places. The active ingredients are: Light Liquid Paraffin 6.0%, White Soft Paraffin 15% and it also contains other ingredients and please note it is suitable for people allergic to lanolin.
I know every ezcema suffer is quite individual and for some a product will work and for others it won't. But i do highly recommend this product if you have tried many alternatives and still you find your child's and your own ezcema/dermatitis is uncontrollable. This product is safe and does not contain Hydrocortisone.
There was a time where I was losing the battle in terms of trying to control my little girls ezcema as she would be up at nights and I would at numerious times be horrifed to see blood on her pillow and clothes from all the itching, it didn't matter if I put mittens or gloves on her she would manage to take them off or cry to be taken off. It's awful to see your child suffer in this way and when I began applying this cream I pretty much saw the results practically over night. She would itch less, I gradullay reduced the amount of her hydrocortisone with the advise of the doctor and over time her ezcema could not even be seen. Don't get me wrong she still has outbreaks and times when it flares up if she's ill or there is weather change but now I feel at ease that there a way to ease her discomfort.
Highly recommended to all, i actually love this product, the only negative is the price as it is expensive compared to alternatives such as Aqueous cream.
Just to note this cream can be used as a general moisturiser too.
Summary: A lovely product all round.
