“ Brand: Tommee Tippee / Type: Teething Rings & Gels „
I purchased this teether from Tommee Tippee because I wanted my daughter to have a cuter one and I saw it looking lonely on the shelf in Tesco for the small price of 99p. I don't think you can have too many teethers, especially not at that price.
The teether is shaped like a little rabbit with giant teeth and purple in colour with a cute little face. It has a little tuft of hair which is sperate pieces of cloth though I wasn't too keen on these. Luckily my duaghter wasn't interested in them. It is shaped like a ring at the bottom to give your child ease whilst holding and chewing.
The bottom half of the ring is see through with a clear blue sterilsed gel (non toxic so no worries if your child manages to bite through it) which is the part which gets really cold when you put it in the fridge to chill it for your baby to chew on. It states on the packet of this teether that it is not suitable for freezing though I am not sure why.
These Tommee Tippee teethers come in stages 1-4 which is for the different stages of your baby's teeth coming through. This particular design is stage 2 and recommended for the front teeth. The teether is nice and durable. My daughter never managed to chew through it (though you should always keep an eye on teethers just in case). The teether is easy to clean (I always sterilsed it with boiling water) though my daughter didn't use it much. She preferred the Tommee Tippee fruit style ones she had.
I think she found this one slightly awkward to use as there is one specific part which is a teether and she was only little when her teeth started to come through so I think she got a little confused as to why one part was soothing her teeth and the other wasn't when with her other teethers it didn't matter where she chewed, she always managed to get relief on to her hot gums. My daughter much preferred to play with this teether than actually use it for its purpose!
I give this teether 3 Doo Yoo stars. It is cute and does work but I do think there are better teethers out there.
These teethers are super!! My little girl is 6 months old and is very happy when she is biting down on this teether. I put mine in the fridge so it is nice and cool for her little gums, she also finds it easy to hold herself so she can put it in her mouth if she wants it (or throws it if that is not the problem!) Because of the colourful design i find she likes to play with it too - that why it is more familar and inviting for her to put in her mouth in the first place.
I did attempt to use this when she was about 3 months old, however i found that she was too little to hold it and also to keep it in her mouth. For 3 months age i would recomend the tommee tippee gummy teethers - both good value for money in my opinion!
My son is almost 10 months now and his first teeth appeared when he was 6 months old, he didn't suffer too much with these and once they broke through the skin the small symptoms he had disappeared and he became a happy baby once more!!
The when he turned 9 months (3 weeks ago) he started teething again, this time he is suffering very badly. He has become very irritable and wants to chew anything in sight, including my fingers! My poor little man is constantly chewing on his hands or his toys, in fact anything he could lay his hands on!! I decided I should go and buy him a proper teething ring in the hope that it would ease his suffering slightly.
I purchased a Tommee Tippee cool pals teether from my local Lloyds chemist, it cost me £3.25. These teethers come in 4 stages, stages 1-4. The stage I chose was stage 2 and is designed especially for when the front teeth are coming through. This teether has a mixture of both hard and soft surfaces to either soothe the gums or for your baby to bite down on to help the teeth to come through the surface. Stage three teethers are designed for middle teeth and stage 4 teethers are designed for the difficult back teeth.
The teether comes in an oval shaped packet and is sealed with a plastic see though front. The teether is shaped in a kind of oval shape and has a hole through the middle of it so that your baby can easily hold onto the teether to bite down onto it. The top of the teether is made of hard plastic and is shaped to look like a rabbit, it also had three strands of material on the head to look like hair, my son especially likes to play with these!!
The bottom of the teether is made of blue, see through plastic and is filled with sterilized gel, which is non toxic and safe. The purpose of this gel is that when you place it in the fridge it cools right down so can be very soothing when given to your baby, as the coolness calms down the sore gums. It states on the packet that you should not place this teether in the freezer compartment, only the fridge to cool it down. It also states on the packet that you should regularly inspect the teether before and after use and throw it away when it become worn, damaged or punctured.
This teether has been a god send to both my son and me!! My son loves to play with the teether when he is not suffering with his teeth and has many a long conversation with it!! Im not sure quite what he is saying, but it seems to be very interesting to my son!! When his teeth are really hurting him he bites down really hard on both the hard and soft parts of the teether and it seems to really soothe his poor little gums. Each night I wipe down the teether once he has gone to bed and place it in the fridge, this way it is ready for him when he gets up in the morning.
This teether has both soft and hard surfaces to chew on and soothe gums.
