Advantages: helps with teething pain bright colour can be used as a toy
Disadvantages: takes a bit of co-ordinating initally to use
When my son first started teething at 5 months I went and ram raided Mothercare at our nearest shopping outlet to find something to help him with the pain and his insatiable need to chew and bit down on things. This was one of the products that in my desperate bid to help him I threw into the bag.
What is it?
**************
It is a ring with three different coloured keys on Yellow Green and blue these are filled with "purICE" ( I think this is a trade mark for the gel). The manufactures claim that the purICE makes the teether stays cooler for longer than water filled versions
The three keys can be chilled in the fridge you should never cool them in the freezer as your child could end up with a cold burn on their mouth.
The textured surfaces are designed to soothe and stimulate sore gums safely.
This product is a stage 2 teething toy what are the stages of teething I hear you ask well here are what they say are the first 2
"Stage 1. Teething discomfort can start well before teeth even come through. You can often feel the teeth that are about to merge; gently run the tip of your finger over your baby's gums. You should be able to feel the teeth just below the gum.
Stage 2. The first four teeth (the incisors) are usually the first to appear. seeing the emergency of the first tooth is often a happy occasion for parents. Teeth often emerge in pairs. It is usually the two upper teeth that erupt first."
Now they often say the the first teeth come between 6-10 months now as with everything in the baby world this can happen later or earlier depeending on your child
Our experience

Though it seemed to be a bit heavy for my 5 month old son he was able to hold it but his co-ordination meant at times he kept hitting himself with it. He also found initially it difficult to separate and get hold on one key at a time, as they seemed to jingle next to each other due to their weight That said once he had been using it for a few days he seemed to get the hang of it. He also found the ring itself nice to bit on and would often be chewing down on this as well. He never likes the keys to be fridge cold though and if given them when they had been in the fridge would drop them in disgust. As I was using a cold water steriliser for things he actually found that the coolness the keys took on from the water to be a nicer sensation for him. He also enjoyed the fact that they clinked together and made a noise to be fun to play with. Though this is a stage 2 teething toy my son has used this through the teething process for both his canines and first molars he also has enjoyed the key component part and tries to copy me using keys in places

I bought this product from Mothercare for £3.99 which seems to be the average price for this product give or take 10 pence.
