Tommee Tippee Puzzle Teether
Advantages: Entertaining - fits in tiny mouths
Disadvantages: Very hard
My son Brad has been suffering with the dribbling, sore gums and teething pains since he was about 14 weeks old and still at 7 months has one and a half teeth!
The problem is with many traditional teething rings is that they are too big for little hands and mouths so really don't work.
Enter the Puzzle Teether!
This is a toy and teether combined into one special product. It is available from Boots or Amazon for anything between £2.50 (I got mine for this in the Boots sale) - £5.00. Although this is quite a lot for a small toy it has many uses.
What is it made of?
I was a bit surprised that this is made of quite hard plastic so it really doesnt have the "give" of many other teething toys. This would probably be my one critisicm of this toy as it is hard. So hard in fact that my lovely son managed to give himself a bruise on his head by hitting himself with this toy really hard. He as also bruised my shins by hitting me with it, but I bruise very easily!
That said and the slightly worrying bruising issue out of the way this is actually a really good toy.
Why should I use it?
First it is not that wide so will fit into the smallest hands and mouths. It is brightly coloured with orange, blue, yellow and clear sections so is visually appealing to babies. It has different textures for them to explore a twisty bit and bits with rings for added exploration opportunities! It has rings which can be moved around the toy and grabbed onto in their own right. It is also jointed so you can twist it into several shapes.
Does my baby like it?
He LOVES this , he spends ages chewing, moving the rings, twisting it into different shapes and of course bashing it onto anything (it makes a good noise). I often attach it to his buggy straps and he will happily chew it or play with it as we go around town and as it is strapped in he can't lose it!
Overall is it worth the £5?
Well being the bargain hunter that I am - I would say look out for it on sale as £2.50 is a much better price. That said I have had so much use out of this as both a toy and teether I would say it was almost worth the price!
Just be aware that it is hard and that they can hit themselves with it but other than that this is a great toy I would recommend!
