Tommee Tippee Puzzle Teether
Advantages: Great sensory and manipulative toy, my son loved holding it, keeps little hands busy
Disadvantages: My son never used this for teething, its more of a rattle than a teether
I'm going to be totally honest here.. I had no idea this toy was a teether until about 5 minutes ago while I saw it on the dooyoo review list!!
My mum gave us this toy when tyler was about 5 months. She had taken the packaging off and hadnt told me it was a teether. It certaintly doesnt look like one in my opinon. She gave it to us with a couple of other little toys if I remember correctly.
Its a little hard to describe this toy if you cant see the pictures. Its a few semi circles connected together, you can manipulate its shape slightly, it has rings on, raised texture in some areas and beads in so it rattles if you shake it. My son used to love this rattle- I call it that because that is what I see it as! He liked to shake it to make a noise and as he got older loved manipulating the links slightly. As he got older he sometimes tried to put his hands in the nappy area during his changes (which one resulted in a horrible pooey hand) so to keep his hands busy I'd usually give him this. It was a great small toy to pop in the changing bag and every now and again it comes back out just to be held during nappy time.
My son very rarely put this in his mouth. Like any young baby he did of course put things in his mouth but he had favourites and this wasnt on of them. I dont know why- maybe the shape just didnt appeal to him- his fists or teething keys were what interested him though.
I can't reccomend this toy for teething more for the obvious reason I never would of known it was a teether had I not seen it on here named as a "puzzle teether" and my son certaintly never used this as such. I would however reccomend it as a small toy. Its great for keeping little hands busy especially during a nappy change and can keep your little one quiet while they fiddle with it. It could also easily be attached with a velcro strap to a buggy.
You can purchase this toy (or should I say teether!) for 4.99 on Amazon.
Im unsure how to rate this...for teething purposes it doesnt rate highly for me but as a toy my son loves it. And he still fiddles with it now as I've said so it has longetivity there. I'm going to give it a generous 3 stars.
Summary: I don't care what its called, it is NOT a teether, it IS a rattle!
