Dyson Toy Vacuum Cleaner
by pinkprincess24 My daughter is 2 and a half and is VERY girly! She is a mini-mummy and just loves to copy me. I saw a pink Dyson toy in the Argos catalogue and she just had to have it! The toy Dyson comes in traditional Dyson colours, a baby pink (which is the one we have) or purple like the picture. The pink colour is only available at ... Argos, but the other colours are in most toy stores like Toys R Us, and the typical retail price is about £20. The Dyson toy looks exactly like the real Dyson! It even has the Dyson logo in white on the front. It comes with a long hose, a brush-type attachment (I use the real version of this on my stairs) and a nozzle. They attach to the Dyson toy just like the real ones do on the real Dyson and they also attach to the end of the hose. The hose is attached to the handle and is removable just like the real thing, handy for stairs and skirting boards! In the plastic compartment of the toy are several tiny multicoloured balls (green, yellow, blue and red) which simulate the picked up lint/rubbish. The hoover does not actually have any suction so the child can't actually hoover anything up, but when the hoover is on the little balls do spin around inside. The Dyson toy does sound like a real hoover abeit much quieter. There is a switch on the side which you can slide to one of three positions - off, quiet mode or loud. The quiet mode is reasonable, but the loud mode is quite a bit louder - though actually not unbearably so and definitely nowhere near as loud as the real thing. I find that the switch is quite stiff, particularly for little hands, but my daughter can manage it just about. The Dyson takes 3 C batteries which have lasted a very long time, my daughter has had this since November and uses it several times a week and the batteries are still going strong! It is a lovely cute little replica. My daughter loves to line it up next to mine and say "my hoover, mummy's hoover" then hoover alongside me! My one gripe is that the hoover has no suction! My daughter used to have a little pink hoover that had a little bit of suction, she loved watching things get sucked up! All the same, it is perfect for copying mummy and "helping" hoover and at £20, it is a fairly reasonable price for a branded toy! Read the complete review |

Dyson Toy Vacuum Cleaner
by wazza115 When Lauren was around 2 years old, for some strange reason she started to hate the noise of the vacuum cleaner, so I thought what better way to stop this was to start making hoovering fun, this is when I spotted the children's Dyson. The RRP can be up to £20, however I managed to purchase from Argos for £14.99 when it was on ... offer. The toy Dyson is very life like, it measures around 69cm in height. You can remove the pipe and it comes with three different tools which can be attached to the end of the pipe. There are two settings, one when makes the small balls spin around and the other which will actually pick up small pieces of paper and rubbish. Lauren also likes to rip up paper into small pieces and then suck them up with the hose. The hoover make a realistic noise when turned on, I have to remind Lauren to turn this off sometimes as she will move onto the next toy and forget about it. The only downside to the product is that it is a little difficult to remove the pipe, my daughter still struggles. We purchased the colour pictured above however you can also buy one when yellow attachments and trims. I feel it is really well made and as I said before, very realistic and life like. This does require 4 x C batteries which are not included. We keep this under the stairs with my Dyson and Lauren gets it out every time when I do, she loves to follow me around and copying what I do. Before we brought Lauren a toy lawnmower, she used to pretend she was cutting the grass with this too! We have had this over two years now and it still looks like new. I would recommend this product and give 5 out of 5 stars. I am just hoping that as she gets older, she will continue to love hoovering and I wont have to lift a finger, next job, ironing!!!!! Thanks for reading. Review may be on other sites under the same user name. Read the complete review |

Dyson Toy Vacuum Cleaner
by killbill105 Yep. You read it. My 2 year old daughter is terrified of hoovers, particulary our Dyson!! I never thought it would be a good idea but my mother suggested that we should buy her this toy hoover for her, but at £20 i thought stuff that, until i saw it in a charity shop in brand new condition for a fiver! At first i stuck to my ... theory that Ella would be terrified of it, but she loved it!! Hoovering was now something fun to do (for her, not me) and though she is still a bit unsure about the enormous monstrosity she calls "Daddies Hoov" she is getting better and better and will willing stand next to me and emulate the hoovering process! Anyway, onto the product. Being a replica it is the spitting image of most dyson vacuum cleaners and comes with accessories such as the brush attachment and the long thin part which is good for doing skirting boards, as well as the little tool which i use to clean the stairs (Sorry, i have no idea what these parts are called!!) Like the real hoover these attachments all clip to the toy were they would be situated on life size dysons. They all clip onto the end of the detachable hose too, though these can be quite stiff for young hands to put on and remove afterwards. The hose/ handle is removable for handheld 'cleaning' yet it is not extendable, but still looks like the real thing. Unfortunatly the toy doesnt provide any suction so your little helpers wont actually be helping you in any way, most likely just blocking your path, bless 'em! To add more effect to the product, it takes three large size C batteries (which i think are a little pricey) and with the flick of a switch down the side of the hoover, it will emulate the dirt spinning around in the cyclone buy spinning multi coloured peices of foam around, which ultimatly makes a cute 'whirring' sound. That is about all there is to review this item, but i will say that in my opinion, this product is definetly over priced, a little noisy when in use (though not half as loud as the real one) and requires expensive batteries, but is fantastic if your looking for a way to cure your child of vacuum-a-phobia and is actually quite fun for the child to use. Aside from that it is very cute! I hope all of your questions have been answered and this review has been both amusing and useful for you :) Steve Read the complete review |
