In The Night Garden Iggle Piggle Trike
by Prokofiev
My daughter received the Iggle Piggle trike for her 3rd birthday, and has used it as often as the weather has allowed. The trike has a lovely design - bright colours, and with a detachable Iggle Piggle rucksack on the handlebars. My daughter was given the choice of several trikes based on other characters that she likes, but she chose ... this one, mainly because of the basket on theback - she likes to take her other toys for a ride! It is easy to assemble and feels sturdy and safe, although the nuts and bolts need checking regularly and re-tightening. I also find that I have to re-align the wheels a lot, but this only takes a few seconds.
The trike comes with a parent handle for use before the child can pedal, or for a little extra help up hills! There is also a foot rest behind the pedals for when the child is not pedalling. This ensures that their feet don't get knocked by the pedals when the parent is pushing them. The trike appears to be easy for a youngster to steer, although the low centre of gravity means that pedalling sometimes looks like hard work.
The only negative is the noise! The wheels are plastic, so the sound it makes on hard surfaces like pavement/patio is loud and quite annoying. The only other negative is the lack of brakes, although as the trike is for quite young children, I imagine the manufacturers assume it will be used under supervision and in a safe environment. In The Night Garden Iggle Piggle Trike
by bushbird
My two year old girl is iggle piggle mad so for her birthday we thought we would get her this trike as my eight year old son had had a similar one and we got much use out of it.
After searching for ages we finally sourced it at amazon, everywhere else had sold out and did'nt have any in stock.
It arrived promptly which i ... thought was great as i was new to amazon.
It is a self assemble product which I do always find a bit daunting as am not great at instructions and this time it was no different. After two hours I thought that I had finally got it although this was not to be ,I had put the handlebars on the wrong way and it would have been very difficult for her to use so I had to change them which didnt take too long but was annoying. I had no problem putting the adult control bar on and we loved the little iggle piggle bag that comes with it especially as it can be removed and used as a small rucsac. I also loved the fact that they had thought about when a childs legs do not reach the peddles so they have little foot rest for your childs feet to rest on which must make the ride more comfortable .
One thing that did bother me was that it does'nt have a safety belt on the chair which other trikes do and I am always aware that she might slip off, also once out and about I realised that the front wheel needed re-adjusting and as I don't carry a tool kit with me was a bit of a pain as it required alot of power to push until I got home,it was easy enough when at home but was'nt the best first ride.
All in all though my little girl loves it, it's a sturdy product and worth the £27 that we paid for it.
I would definitly reccommend it as it does'nt matter that I had problems assembling it thats probably just me its the fact that you get alot of use from it and puts a smile your childs face. Priceless. Read the complete review |

In the Night Garden Tombliboos Sit And Ride
by mariegill
My little boy was given this as a gift from his auntie on his 1st birthday. It came boxed and was easily unpacked and readily assembled- which is great if you have an eager birthday boy wanting a go!
If im honest, its not very well made. The dots on the side are simply stickers and the plastic frame is slightly thin and ... flimsy, as are the wheels. It does support my sons weight and he is of average size and 16 months old now- so will be fine for any child upto about the age of two maybe two and a half i'd say.
My son loves all the features on this toy, there is what i can only describe as a spin top on the front. You press in a yellow nob and the tomliboos spin around inside the little glass window. Ontop of the stearing wheel there is a red button, when pressed it makes the tomliboos noise. There is also a little mirror and yellow turning nob on either side- when turned they make clicking noises which seems to entertain my son no end! The handle on the back of the walker is great for pushing them around with and seems pretty sturdy- also it can be used by the baby as a push along walker which benefits their development. The seat also lifts up and toys can be stored in their, my son likes to put toys inside and them immediately remove them- he sits for ages doing this (god knows why), i don't complain as it keeps him happy!
Overall i am very happy with this toy, i know i said its a bit flimsy but it does the job and hasn't ever broken or become a hazzard. Read the complete review |
