Little Charley Bear Fun Sound Plush Toy
by sparkymarky1973 Charley Bear is an instantly recognisable character who has his own show on CBeebies voiced by James Cordon, who himself can do no wrong seemingly at the minute! James Cordon is perhaps best known and loved as the character of Smithy in Gavin And Stacey. This soft toy is a cuddly replica of Charley Bear himself with his ... trademark paw-print embossed on his tummy. He takes 3 LR44 batteries (which essentially look like slightly larger watch batteries) and when these are inserted, squeezing his tummy provokes him into saying several phrases from the show in the voice of narrator James Cordon. These include of course the well known catchphrase from the show, "Are you there Charley Bear?" My daughter loves Charley Bear so buying this was a no-brainer. Originally it cost around £17-18 pounds but is currently available from Amazon at just £12 so there has never been a better time to get your hands on one! It is extremely soft, cuddly and the voice, though perfectly clear to hear, is of a volume that doesn't actually blare out meaning that it is not likely to do your swede in any time soon even if, as in the cae of my daughter, your child refuses to Put this down for hours at a time! I think it is extremely good value for money at the minute and is one of the better talking bears available, simply because it is so recognisable and distinguishable from any other bear! My daughter loves sitting down with him and watching his show together and this is something that I am sure your child will absolutely love and bond with in next to no time! Vivid Imaginations Timmy Time Night Night Timmy
by Whizz11 If you watch Cbeebies then you will be aware of Timmy, the cute little sheep. Timmy stars in his very own show, Timmy Time. According to an article I read, Timmy Time is an animated pre-school children's comedy series created by Aardman Animations. It started broadcasting in the UK on CBeebies on 6 April 2009. The show is a spin off from ... the Shaun the Sheep animation which itself is a spin off from the Aardman series Wallace & Gromit, which introduced the character of Shaun. I always thought he was very similar to Shaun so I found it interesting to read this and know that he is in fact a spin off. Timmy is a cute little character and one of my favourites on the CBeebies network. He doesn't speak and just makes little baa noises like a little sheep. Timmy is about 3 to 4 years old and perfect for little kids to associate with I think as he is not able to talk yet but can still communicate and enjoy himself at school. He is actually aimed at pre-school age children as in the series Timmy and his friends have to learn to share, make friends and accept their mistakes. They are supervised by two teachers, Harriet the Heron and Osbourne the Owl. For those of you who know who Justin Fletcher is (Mr Tumble) he actually voices Timmy as well. Timmy is my little girls favourite as well and so when I saw this cute little Timmy soft toy sheep on the Tesco direct website I had to get him. I purchased him recently with my vouchers that I doubled in and traded so I actually got him "free" even though he costs £20 regularly. This Timmy is very cute and cuddly and looks exactly like he does on the television. He has a black face, ears, arms and legs and big wide boggly eyes that he blinks with quite a bit. The rest of his coat is white. Timmy is holding onto a cute little teddy bear and I think this makes him look even cuter than he already is. Timmy even speaks like he does on the television as when you press his hand he makes a baa noise. He is called a night night Timmy as he will close his eyes when he lays down so you can play, "putting Timmy to sleep" and watch him close his eyes. I find this is great for suing with your little one at bedtime too to help them go to sleep. Timmy starts snoring when he is asleep which is funny to listen to. All in all a cute cuddly toy that your child will love if they are a fan of Timmy Time. Read the complete review |

Fifi and the Flowertots Water World Bath Toy
by mumto3 I have four children and when there is a birthday I will buy the others a little gift, usually a book or small inexpensive toy. When my youngest son turned four recently I bought the Fifi and the flowertots water world bath toy for my youngest daughter who is 20 months old. I have bought the Fifi and the flowertots water ... world bath toy a few years ago for my niece and at that time I paid £5 for it through a Littlewoods catalogue sale. While out shopping for Birthday gifts for my son in B&M earlier this year I found the Fifi bath toy priced at £6. I remembered the toy and also how pleased my niece had been with it at the time. Although my youngest wasn't really interested in any characters when I bought the bath toy it is a very cute girly little bath toy so I felt sure that my daughter would like it. The bath toy comes in a box and you get a watering can, a leaf shaped boat and a flower that squirts water. The watering can is made of hard yellow plastic and it has a blue door on the front just like Fifi's house on the television programme. The flower fits together with the leaf to make a boat but can also be used to squirt water. There is a suction cup that fixes to the wall or bath and the watering can fits to this to add another dimension to play. When playing with this toy you can just fill it and tip it up like a normal watering can or you can use the suction cup to hold it and then fill it using a cup or the leaf boat. There is an arrow on the suction cup to indicate the correct way up and the watering can fixes on easily. When using the suction cup the watering can may sit at an angle but will right itself as you pour the water in. As you fill the watering can the door on the front opens to reveal a picture of Fifi standing inside and eventually the can will tip over and the water empties out. On the whole I am very pleased with the toy as it seems quite well made and it is bright colourful and cute to look at. The toy is very girlie so may not appeal to boys but it will certainly appeal to any child regardless of their feelings for Fifi. My only real complaints are that once put together the leaf and the part that squirts water are difficult to take apart and the door just falls open very easily even when you are not filling the watering can with water. My daughter loves this toy and has taken to it straight away. The toy is very simply really but is easy to operate and entertaining. There are no obvious small parts or anything that could easily be swallowed or harmful to a child. To be honest I don't know the recommended age range for this toy but in my opinion it would be fine for any child once they could sit up unaided in the bath. If you wanted you could always use the toy to pour water over a younger baby so I don't think you could really say there is a minimum age range. My eldest daughter is seven and she still enjoys playing with the toy but would have thought I had gone a bit mad if she had received it as a gift. There are lots of ways to play with this toy both in the bath and outside in a garden or greenhouse so I think you are getting real value for money and a cute useful little toy. Definitely one I would recommend. Read the complete review |
