“ Brand: Boots / Age: 6 months / Type: Activity Toys „
I had some Boots vouchers that I received as a gift. So with my nephew?s birthday coming up I thought I would put them to good use by buying him the Boots Driving Activity Toy. He loves cars even at his small age. He loves holding keys and is forever getting cushions and pretending it is a steering wheel. The Driving Activity Toy then seemed an excellent choice and something that will keep him entertained. When I look to buy a toy I always think will it keep the child entertained for more than a couple of days. We have so many toys that my daughter played for a couple of hours and then didn?t even bother with. So we are left with brand new toys. Therefore, when I saw this toy I instantly thought that it would be worth purchasing. It looks really good and is perfect for children. In that the bright colours attract children. You can also teach your child the colours whilst they play so you can get educational worth out of the toy. The driving wheel is lime green with purple legs. However, the best thing about the toys are all the different gadgets which make noise on the wheel. There are so many bits and pieces for children to play with that they won?t get bored. It?s perfect for a child from 6-18 months who is becoming intrigued. I know my nephew loves playing with his Activity toys and the fact it?s in a car design in the form of the steering wheel is an extra bonus. The other good thing is that there?s a lot of different sounds from the toy for the children to pick up with. It has four buttons which children can press and a different noise comes out from. There?s also some good pictures with pop up animals and with a window going round and round there?s lots children can do. Actually, it helps all their senses. So did it keep my nephew entertained? When I gave it him, his eyes lit up. The bright colours coupled with all the activity really caught his eyes. I think the other thing was that it actual
ly looked quality. Everything seemed in the right placed and there was so much to play with. Six months after giving him the Boots Driving Activity Toy he still loves it. His mum says that he has played with this toys the most. It?s like his play gym which kept him entertained whilst he was lying on his back this now keeps him entertained whilst he?s sitting. The Activity toy cost £19. It?s worth every penny because it?s a toy that keeps children entertained for ages and that?s priceless. The different noises, bright colours, pictures etc couple to make this a fantastic gift.
I bought the Boots Driving Activity toy for my son when he was 5 months old and I was on holiday in Brighton. The Boots store was clearing out its toy department to make room for Christmas products, so as everything was half price - I had to have a look. This driving activity toy is the best one that I've seen available. The first thing that you notice are the bright, attractive colours. It has an attractive lime green driving station which is raised off the floor by purple legs, the driving wheel is yellow and there are many other bright colours for each activity on it. It's a very attractive looking toy and very good quality. There is so much to do on it and lots of sounds available. It has a little "driving window" which goes round & round when you pull the little purple handle and it plays a funky little tune while the pictures spin. This tune I confess is one of the reasons I bought the toy, I liked it so much that I couldn’t leave it alone, even now I often pull the handle just to hear the tune! (It amuses me as much as my son!) The driving wheel goes clack-clack when it turns and the horn on the wheel makes a "honk-honk" sound. There are four "noise buttons" below the wheel, an emergency vehicle siren, a train, an aeroplane and a submarine. These sounds are brilliant - I can’t really describe them properly but they are very imaginative - the train sounds like it’s going down the track and then the train bell rings, the submarine sounds like it’s underwater with a radar noise, the ambulance noise is a quiet siren and the aeroplane sounds more like a hairdryer. The good thing about the sounds is that they aren't too noisy and they aren't irritating which is good as they get played over and over again. I even find myself humming the "driving" tune! But that isn’t all to this toy, it also has four pop-up animals, a bear, a dog, a pig and a duck all dre
ssed in little outfits - the pig is dressed up as Biggles (or should that be Piggles?) and the other animals wear hats corresponding to their jobs (ambulance, train & submarine drivers). These pop up animals are popped up by different action buttons. These are great for developing hand co-ordination. One button pulls down, one presses in, one moves sideways and upwards and the other moves to the sides. My 7-month-old son loves this toy, he is fascinated by it and it keeps him quiet for hours. There is so much for him to do, it’s brightly coloured and excellently designed to encourage the development of his co-ordination skills. I can’t recommend it highly enough. The latest co-ordination skill that my son was up to this morning was standing on top of it in his playpen! Oops - I don’t think that this is one of it’s intended functions so I am keeping a closer eye on him now! The age group that it is recommended for on the box was 12+ but if you have an active child who is sitting up - it can be used well before 12 months. This toy comes highly recommended, it’s the best toy I’ve bought (joint first with the Fisher price Sparkling Symphony baby gym) It will keep your child amused for hours.
