Boots octopus. Adrain?s 8 legged friend. This toy is one my grandson has. He loves to play with it, to touch it and feel it, to put its tentacles in his mouth .He makes the legs make a sound by pressing the squeaky areas it is a delight to see his happy face as he plays with his octopus. Boots octopus is a sensory toy. An excellent toy for a little baby experiencing rough, smooth, crinkly, soft for the first time. This toy would also be a good addition at work for my mentally disabled pupils for a sensory lesson to experience and understand different textures. The octopus is made of a soft brightly coloured fabric with designs of crab, mermaid and fish on its round stuffed head. It has eight legs the ends of which are a different sensory feel. Crinkly rough smooth , squeaky, rattly, lumpy, shiny. The legs are also numbered The legs are perfect for little hands to grab and explore. A first way baby explores his/ her environment is to put things in their mouth , yes these tentacles are perfect for that. It is a good toy for learning the first things about the world and textures. I believe this toy comes in 2 sizes. The one Adrian has cost about £10. Oh yes it seems very durable will survive many a chew and play possibly be suitable for baby no 2 in a few years time. It is also washable very important as it goes in mouth If you have a young baby or have one you wish to buy a gift for I would certainly recommend this toy. So would baby Adrian 6 months old. Thanks for reading Mary

- 09/05/03 It is great, we have one but the body is purple felt fabric & the legs are shiny. The crinkly leg is her favorite. |
