Bounce Bounce Baby
Advantages: Colourful, bright
Disadvantages: Suitable age too low
I bought this product for my daughter who had just turned 4 months at the time. I got it from Argos for £60. I was looking for something different for my daughter to sit in and keep her entertained as she was getting older and more interested in things around her.
It was very easy to assemble with my husband doing it within ten minutes. The blue base is a springboard which can be lowered so it grows with your child. There is a blue elephant which is a great teether. It can be detached from the unit so we have been storing it in the fridge so it's nice and cool on the gums. My daughter loves this and goes for this first everytime. The lion with the mirror attached is also great. My daughter loves looking at herself in it, but we find we have to tilt it for her as it doesn't quite twist low enough for her height and can't quite see herself. The giraffe is great with the three moveable balls. My daughter loves this as they make a good noise as they fall back down when she lifts them. The flower doesn't twist easily and when you turn it makes a horrible clicky noise. At the moment, now at 6 months my daughter is unable to turn the flower herself. The piano part is of, a few more keys would be nice and the lights on them aren't that bright to catch baby's attention. It plays nice tunes though. Finally we have the leaf on a stem, and this is where my problem lies. The stem is very flexible and bendy. My daughter can bend it enough to get it in her mouth, which is lovely as a teether, but she then goes on to put too much of it in her mouth and begins to choke on it as it touches the back of her throat. She has done this on a number of occasions so I now find myself turning the 360 degree seat away from it so it's out of her grasp.
Overall I would say this is an "average" product. I think the suitable age is a little low and perhaps shouldn't be recommended until the child can sit upright unaided. My daughter can not yet sit up and finds herself leaning forward and chewing on the ridge of the seat. With the blue base on the highest setting, her feet still do not quite reach it so she is unable to turn herself round in the seat. So although the product says 4 months + I would say it's more suitable for 6 months +. My daughter gets fed up quite easily in it as she gets frustrated that she keeps falling forward, and can't reach all the toys herself.
The picture in the catalogue, and the description made the product sound great, but overall I was a little disappointed and don't feel it is worth £60.
Summary: Great product for older babies
