Advantages: Simple to use

Disadvantages: Limited life span

My son was given this toy as a present from his god parents when he was 12 months old, you can currently purchase the toy from Toys R Us for £7.99, it is recommend that the toy is suitable from 18 months and upwards.

This toys is made from durable plastic and comprise of a hammer, four small balls and a base unit. The base unit is rectangular in shape and on the top it has four different coloured holes, below this is a slide. Each ball is half clear plastic and the other half is a different colour, the balls also have funny faces on them. Each ball matches up with the top of the holes. The aim of the toy is for to your child to put the balls in the correct hole, hit it with the hammer and then watch it roll down the slide into the tray, all very simple really. It is supposed to help with hand and eye coordination and it will also help in colour recognition. Along the side of the base unit is a mirror, but to be honest I'm not really sure of the point of it and my son has not really paid it much attention.

Overall the toy is ok, it is very simple and fairly well made, however in our house, my son was more interested in throwing or kicking the balls around than he was in hitting them in the slots with the hammer. I would recommend this toy to others, as it is quite good fun and is also well priced.

Summary: OK toy, durable, but not that interesting overall
