The set For my little girls birthday I had a good idea of what I wanted to get her, and I really wanted to get her a handbag set. I had planned to get the fisher price version, but when I stumbled across this I decided this would be perfect. Chad Valley is a range of budget toys only available at Argos. I have found them to be really high quality despite the low price so there was no hesitation in buying it, despite a few negative reviews on the site. In the set you receive a pink soft material handbag and inside are all the accessories you would expect to find in an adults handbag. These include a set of keys, a mobile phone, and a mirror and for good measure a teddy bear. All of the pieces can be placed into the bag and there is a small button to fasten the bag shut. The bag is pink in colour and has silver polka dots printed all over it. It is bright and attractive and instantly caught my little girls eye. The bag is a little smaller than we expected (Size H19, W21, and D4cm) but it is perfect for my little girl who was one at the time she received it. The bag is just big enough to fit all the accessories inside, although it can be a little difficult for little one at first as the room is limited. Once all the pieces are inside there is no room for anything else, but my little girl really does not mind as she is happy with the accessories that come with it. The handle is a great size for small arms and she can put it on her shoulder and carry it around without any problems at all. In play The main reason I wanted to get my little girl her own bag is because she is constantly in mine, and it has worked as even now six months on she is so occupied with hers mine is left alone. In my opinion it is worth the retail price just for that reason, but as an added bonus my little girl adores it and it is one of her most used toys that she received for her birthday. I had not realised there was any interactive features with this set when I purchased it, as I thought it was just a bag and accessories for role play. So when my little girl began playing and I heard a phone ringing I was surprised. My little girl thinks it is amazing her phone actually rings, and it does add more value as a toy. With the slightest squeeze the phone begins dialling a number or ringing and my little girl starts babbling away. She also loves looking in the mirror. While it is very small there is still a large enough surface for her to be able to see herself. Of course it is child friendly and it can be bent this way and that without any problems. The teddy is only small but it has a squeaker inside so when you press its tummy it produces a loud squeak. Again my little girl loves this, but it probably receives the least use out of all the pieces. She prefers the more grown up pieces that she would find in my bag and so the teddy often gets left out. The final accessories are a set of three keys held on a key ring. They are a harder material than the other parts of the set, and almost feel like cardboard. They are much stronger than cardboard and my little girl finds them perfect for chewing on while she is teething. Her side teeth have just started to come through and she finds the ridged edges perfect for easing her pain. They are completely safe for little one to chew on, but of course as they are not designed for this purpose you should always keep an eye on your child. They also rattle when moved about which my little girl thinks is amazing. The bag itself and all of the accessories are made from soft material that is perfect for young babies. Before buying this set there were a few negative reviews saying it was really poorly made so they returned it. I have to disagree as we have found the quality to be fantastic. Yes it is a little small, but it is the perfect size to fit a child at the start of the recommended age range. Even my four year old little girl finds it the perfect size to carry around, and often borrows it from her sister. It has lasted since June being used by a one year old and four year old without any deterioration at all. I would highly recommend this handbag to anyone with a little girl between one and three years old. It states it is suitable from 9 months plus which I would agree with as there is absolutely nothing that could cause a problem to younger children. Both my little girls adore this bag and the accessories that come with it. The interactive features are an added bonus and it is perfect for role play for young girls that want to be just like mummy. It is exclusive to Argos, but as always you can also pick it up on EBay for a similar price. It is available to purchase at £9.99 but we also purchased a baby's first activity doll as part of their two for £15 promotion, so really it only cost £7.50. I believe it is easily worth the full retail and will be buying more as presents.
