My husband used to work for Dyson so he was chomping at the bit to buy our little girl a Dyson as soon as she was old enough. The age recommendation for this item is 3+ years but our little girl is 2 and absolutely loves playing with it.

It looks and comes apart just like a real Dyson. You can use it in upright mode and have the coloured beads flying around, or you can pull the flexible hose off and use it to actually pick things up! The suction in this mode isn't very hard though, so it will only pick small bits of fluff up and won't hurt the child if they put it against their skin (as our little girl likes to do!). It is also very reasonably priced at £17.99 and is actually cheaper than the toy Henry model.

When we first got it my friend told me that hers eats batteries so to make sure we bought plenty, but it's been in use now for 9 months and we haven't yet had to change the batteries. Maybe my friend was just unlucky.
