Advantages: Lots of things to grab, chew and squeeze

Disadvantages: Pointless for a newborn

When my little girl was born she received loads of teddy bears and the Blossom Farm Activity Dillon Donkey was one of them. To begin with she showed no interest in this teddy whatsoever (mind you what baby would play with something that is almost as big as them). So we put it to one side and forgot all about it.

Then recently I dug it out again and gave it to her to see if she would play with it (she is now nearly 5 months) and to my surprise she absolutely loves it. I would imagine it has something to do with all the various things that she can grab and chew.

So what makes this teddy different to the rest? This teddy is approximately 31cm tall so it's a nice size; it has two big floppy ears which have crinkly paper inside them so they make a noise when grabbed. It also has one blue hand and one orange one and again they are both filled with the same crinkly paper. On its belly is a carrot which has a baby safe mirror attached, the mirror has a flap which is used to cover it, this to is filled with crinkly paper. The left foot has a bee attached which when pulled out starts to vibrate and gets pulled back into the foot (my child likes chewing on this when its vibrating) and finally on the right foot is a flower (attached with a strip of material) the centre of which squeaks when pressed and the petals are again filled with crinkly paper.

The donkey is mostly pastel green and blue with splashes of red, yellow and orange (on the various toys). Now I have to be honest and say that I did not realize this was supposed to be a donkey (I thought it was some kind of rabbit) I only found out it was a donkey when I looked on the early learning centre website.

This teddy cost £15 from The Early Learning Centre which sounds a lot for a teddy but when you look at other similar products (for example the Sneezy the Activity Dragon on Amazon which is slightly smaller and has very similar toy attached it cost £24.99) I think the £15 price tag is not bad at all.

The age range for this toy is 0 - 12 months and it is supposed to encourage your child to look listen and touch or in my child's case just generally fight with it which is also great as it wears her out.

Summary: Ideal teddy for a 4 month old onwards, lots of things to grab, squeeze and chew
