ELC Click Clack Dino
Advantages: Great toy, well constructed
I love wooden toys for kids as I always think they are well made, look good and last years as opposed to cheap plastic toys so when I saw this dinosaur in the Early Learning Centre I had to get it for my little boy. He won't get much use out of it now as he's only a month old but I'm sure it will be a firm favourite in the future. For now though my little girl absolutely loves it so it has been a good investment.
The dinosaur is called a Click Clack dinosaur as this is the noise it makes. The dinosaur is a light green colour and has a really friendly smiley face. He's a friendly dinosaur as opposed to a scary dinosaur which makes him perfect for very small children. I would say this is probably more of a boys toy as all little boys I know love dinosaurs whereas the girls are not so fussed but the actual toy itself is perfect for both boys and girls.
The construction of the dinosaur I think is very clever. The dinosaur sits on four wheels which have dinosaur feet pained on them making him look very cute. His body is made of two arches which reach from the back wheels to the front wheels. His scales are made out of 4 planks of wood which are what make the clicking clacking noise when the dinosaur moves. If you can imagine the sound of wood hitting wood then this is the sound it makes. The scales are lovely bright colours of red, orange and blue and contrast well with the green of the dinosaur.
The dino has a red string attached to the front of it so little kids can pull it along. These are some of my little girls favourite toys, the ones you can pull along so I knew she would like it and hopefully my little boy will too. When you pull the dino along not only does the click clack sound come into play but he wobbles from side to side too making it a fun toy to pull along and become your childs little pal that follows them everywhere.
The dino costs £10 from The Early Learning Centre and in my opinion is a well made classic toy that will last for many years to come.
