Advantages: Fun when used with another toy
Disadvantages: Not as entertaining when used alone
My daughter loves cars and well, anything with wheels that she can push around on the floor. Seen as though she never had many we went out to mothercare to see what we could find. That's when we came across a twirling car track thing (I'm not too sure what it is) in the ELC section of mothercare. With it came two cars, wanting more than that we also purchased the construction vehicle trio which are designed to be used with the car garage thing.
The trio cost £10.00 which is a little expensive since we got the garage and two cars for only £45.00. The vehicles consist of one tipper truck, one mixer and one tow truck. The colours are orange, yellow, blue and green. This was an important factor for me as I wanted to find something unisex as most car related toys are designed specifically for boys.
The 3 vehicles are designed to fit with the garage; however they can just be used on their own. They all have magnets on the front and the back allowing them to connect together to form one long vehicle.
They are not huge vehicles; however they are nice and chunky making them easy for little hands to move around. They are designed for children aged one to three which I think is a reasonable age as my daughter does not play with them as much now she is almost three. And there are no small parts for little ones to be able to fit into their mouth.
The construction vehicles don't really do much, the wheels move around when pushed and the tipper truck tips up when pulled to do so. For younger children any moving object is fun, but if buying for 2 years + they may not be as enjoyable. My daughter prefers to play with hers on the garage and has lots of fun linking the 3 cars up and having a pile up at the end of the garage. I have rarely seen her play with them without her garage though.
All of the trucks are made from plastic and are very easy to clean and maintain. They are very durable, which is good as toy cars seem to get thrown and bashed around a lot. Our's don't have a scratch on them and we have had them for almost two years now.
These toys would be a lot better if used with a garage ( any that fits) or a car mat or something like that as they are just not so fun on their own. I would recommend them but wouldn't advise buying them alone.
Summary: Not worth buying alone
