Purchased this for my young daughter around a year ago, and it is still working today, all the food still in tact as well. Its a fun little microwave that works the same as a real life version without actually heating anything up. When you put something into the mcrowave and press the 'start' button it lights up inside, makes a noise, and spins round on a removable plate. A little screen tells the child how long left, and a 'ping' alerts the child that the food is cooked. Different buttons on the microwave reflect the food that comes with it, so the child can match up which button they need to press with which peice of food, some meat, a peice of pizza, a ... This is a great toy and so real doing all the features a normal microwave would apart from heating food (obviously). I have a step daughter and the year before last her nanna bought her a pretend kitchen with all the accessories to go with it. This been one of them. She plays with this all the time and i think its great how they can make them so much like the proper version. It has a handle to pull open the micriwave door and inside is a plastic plate which isnt removable. Last year my daughter had most of her Birthday and Christmas presents from the Early Learning Centre. The Electronic Microwave is suitable for children of 3 years and above. It costs £15.00 and batteries are included. The ELC Microwave is made from sturdy, purple, green, blue and yellow coloured plastic and includes 4 play food items. The door on the microwave is shaped ideally for little hands and my 3-year-old daughter opens it with ease. On the front of the microwave next to the door there is a small LED screen that shows and counts down the cooking time. Underneath this are the controls.
