Advantages: Nice set, fun characters

Disadvantages: None

My daughter has a lot of Happyland people from The Early Learning Centre but she doesn't have many big play houses so we were really excited when her Grandparents bought her the windmill farm recently for her birthday.

As the name would suggest the farm has a big windmill as its main feature. There are some big plastic yellow sails that turn around when you move them which are attached to a big dome building. This looks very authentic and just like the old buildings where they milled the corn. The sails play a tune when you turn them around and for this you need 2 AAA batteries.

There is a downstairs part of the windmill too which has some stairs on the outside allowing the figures to get up and down to the different levels. The back of the building is completely open so this allows you to play with it how you wish and make up your on games and stories. There is no built in furniture but there are some nice touches that make it look more homely such as a horse painting on the wall.

The farm building has two stable doors that open where you can house the horse and cart that come with this set. The cart attaches to the horse by some reigns and is not the most secure fit and I do find I have to put them back together quite a bit.

The windmill also comes with a cow and sheep, two people and furniture such as two beds and two chairs. If you have some other sets you will note that the chairs are exactly the same, as are the beds but I like this fact because you can mix and match and use these with other sets too.

The windmill farm cost £38 from The Early Learning Centre.
