Advantages: good toy for multi cultural lessons
Disadvantages: none
These world people are happy land people, wouldn't it be great if people of all races from all around the world lived happily together like these people toys from the early learning centre.
These people are really great for both your child at home or the nursery or school. There are 6 people in this set. They are a Scottish man in a kilt playing his bagpipes, a Frenchman wearing a beret, some garlic round his neck, and with a stick of French bread in his hand too. There is a Spanish lady in her flamenco dress holding some castanets. There is a cowboy with his cowboy hat, an Indian lady wearing a sari and a Japanese lady in her sarong.
These happy land world people are a nice size for your child to hold not too small for an 18 month old ,no worries about them putting the people in their mouths as they are just that little bit too big.
Happy land toys are recommended for children aged 18 months. The plastic they are made from is smooth their legs are not jointed do not move.
These people are compatible with all the other E L C Happy land toys they will be a good extension toy to any of the happy land sets. These people from other countries could visit the happy land market, or maybe ride on a plane from the happy land chocs away airport. These people are also compatible with some of the other ELC dolls houses.
I really would recommend this set you can talk about other people from other countries. Develop a multi cultural theme. These dolls are available new at the E L C for £6.00 I think I saw some on eBay for £2.
Enjoy playing with your children and their toys their toys are their tools for learning. Mary
Summary: Toy people from other contries for the E L C Happy land sets

- 09/03/08 These sound great, and ideal size for my daughter to play with and I like the idea of them all representing a different culture, it's great when kids can learn through play.will have to look out for some! |

- 26/02/08 Hm... not so sure about these. Sounds like they're teaching kids stereotypes and I'm not sure I like that. |
