With three young children in the household, we've acquired a number of toys and games from the Early Learning Centre over the years. These have, with very few exceptions, proven to be great value, entertaining and educational toys for my boys. Fortunately, this 'Light and Sound Drum' is not one of the exceptions and it has been a permanent fixture in our toy box for over four years and is still going strong. The 'drum' is a particularly chunky and really colourful plastic toy which, as the name suggests, features lights and sounds to capture and maintain a baby's attention. Unlike a traditional child's drum, this toy doesn't need any sticks or beaters to ... Read the complete review

When my son reached 6 months and was able to sit up independently we realised that we would need some new, bigger toys for him. He was always throwing his arms about and bashing things and loved different noises, so I know a drum would be perfect. We had a good look around but could not really see anything that met our requirements for him. A lot of the drums that were available came with sticks and were designed for much older babies. Eventually, we settled on a drum that we had seen in the Early Learning Centre - a place I like to buy most of his toys from if possible as I know that they will be safe and well made. The lights and sounds drum is suitable ... Read the complete review

When my daughter was a baby she was never much a fan of toys, she would look at them and play with them but she never really enjoyed it. It was for her first Christmas when she received the ELC Lights and sound drum. I can definitely say that this was the toy that would have her fascinated and laughing for hours on end. The light and sound drum is an odd shaped thing, its sort of like the shape of an egg timer. Its design consists of four colours, green, yellow, orange and blue. The colours are bright and attractive and will draw babies into to play with it and examine the fascinating coloured object. Its very basic in terms of what it does but ... Read the complete review

We don't have a Mothercare or Early Learning Centre at close hand, but every so often we would visit a bigger town that has a store. A couple of months ago we made a visit to a store and we were keeping a look out for some new toys for our now 10 month old daughter, as at the time, she was quickly outgrowing her baby toys and teethers. At that stage, she was already enjoying banging things and so when we saw this Light and Sound Drum we thought it would be a good buy, although it has been designed for babies of 9 months plus, which she wasn't at the time. It isn't like me to spend a lot of money (!) and at £14 this was a lot pricier than I would usually ... Read the complete review

Lights and sound drum. My little girl loves music and musical instruments and one of her favourites is the drum. We decided to buy her this drum after witnessing her "playing the drum" on top of a Christmas tin of Quality Street chocolates. It seems a proper drum was needed in order to harness her natural drumming talent. This drum from The Early Learning Centre is so much more than a drum as it includes lights and sounds as well. It was a bit pricey at £14 I thought but has been a well loved toy so in my opinion well worth the investment. The drum is round with two large ends but goes in at the middle, I've completely drawn a blank as to ... Read the complete review
