Advantages: lots of buttons to explore, durable, good size
Disadvantages: only interactive features in one of the 2 shutters
This is a chunky durable plastic fire engine from Early Learing Centre, currently priced at £20. The recommended age range is 1-3years.
The fire engine is supplied with 3 fireman and comes with batteries already installed.
There are a number of features to keep your child well entertaned with this toy.
It is easily pushed along the floor and travels well across both carpet and wood/lino.
There is a crane/ladder on top of the fire engine which can be extended/shortened easily and also turns to face different directions. There is a basket you can place one of the fireman in at the end of the crane.
There are spaces for the other 2 fireman in the driver and passenger seats at the front of the fire engine, both of which when pushed will activate a phrase and sounds effects. In front of the fireman are 2 buttons which will activate further sounds and the lights on the top, front and rear of the fire engine to flash.
On either side of the fire engine you will find a shutter you can pull down. On one side is a panel of buttons that can be pressed for more sound effects (telephone, bell, sirens) and if you spin the hose water sounds effects are played.
Underneath the fire engine is a switch to turn the fire engine off or on with either loud or quiet sound effects.
My son received this fire engine for christmas and has been playing with it everyday. He likes taking the fireman out and putting them back in again and trying to fit al 3 fireman into the front!! he loves exploring all the buttons and what sounds they make too. The buttons are all easily activated by little fingers. As well as seeing how fast he can push it along the carpet!!!
A great durable toy with lots of features to keep a young child amused. My son loves vehicles so it was always going to be a hit but the sound effects make it even more fun for him. the only thing he finds difficult is putting the fireman correctly back into the front seats, but I'm sure he'll get the hang of it.
Could be even better if the shutter on the other side of the fire engine also had some interactive features too.
Summary: Great toy,
