My little boy is not even two months yet but already he has his very own fire engine, bought for him as a birth present from his grandparents. Whilst he's not getting much use out of it yet my little two year old girl absolutely loves it and I must admit I do too. It's nice to have some boys toys around the house as so far it's just been very pink and this fire engine is very much a boys toy.
It's big and chunky and very robust and perfect for zooming around the living room floor with the lights blaring and a little person yelling out nee naww, nee naww!!
The engine is quite noisy and the sound of the siren is quite a droney noise but it's the kind of noise that kids love even if it does drive you made. In fact there are different noises as well such as the sound of water which is great when you want to play let's pretend you are putting out a fire. You can also here people talking as well. When you sit the firemen into the cab they will say Full speed, it's an emergency!" and "All hands to the pump." I like this as it adds a bit of realism to the truck.
There are two little firemen figures all dresses up that come with this engine but we also use our Happyland people in it as well as they are just about the same size.
The lights on this are great and really attract my little girls attention when they keep on flashing. You can press the steering wheel to activate the lights and I like this interaction.
The fire engine has a ladder attached to the back of it which lifts up like a really ladder would and swivels around and you can place one of the fireman figures in it and play with it like that as well which I think adds another dimension.
The fire engine costs £20 and is available from The Early Learning Centre and in my opinion is a really nice boys toy that girls will like too .
Summary: Lights and sound fire engine
