... hits me about this is how it is so out-dated in design because we don't have phones like this these days. What I mean is, I can tell Noah it's a phone until I'm blue in the face, but of course it's nothing like any phone he's ever seen (the digital age we live in hey?) That aside, it's a nice simple toy that combines auditory stimulation (through the songs), with visual (the lights) and touch. The red button is easy to press, which is always one thing I'm concerned about, because my son gets annoyed when he can't...more

Premium Review ELC Lights & Sound Phone: Babies won't recognise this as a phone these days! (315 words)

This is one of the many toys we got given to us when we had a baby, and never being one to say no, I was quite happy to give it a wipe off and see what my son thought. As you can see in the picture, it's basically a plastic telephone (of the old style). The receiver is held on by a piece of string, and when you turn the dial, lights flash in time with the songs that play when you hit the red button in the middle. As an adult, the thing that really hits me about this is how it is so out-dated in design because we don't have phones like this these days. If you have read my other two reviews that I have put on today then you will know that my friend gave me a bag of toys a while ago with lots of toys in it and guess what? This is another thing that was in that bag! It's obviously a pretend phone where the reciever is attached to the base by a small amount of cord. Some may see this as a health hazard but I don't think it's long enough to get wrapped around a neck or anything. It has a big red button in the middle of the base which your child can press and it plays a song each time. Surrounding the button is a yellow dial which turns and on the outside of this is fourcoloured strips that light up in time with ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review ELC Lights & Sound Phone: fun phone (162 words)

i purchased this toy from the early learning centre when my son Adam was about 8 months old. It is a telephone with a dial that rotates and a big red button in the middle that plays tunes when pushed. It has about 6 different tunes on it, some common recogniseable tunes and some not. As the music plays the lights flash. You can pick the receiver up and it is great for playing pretend games, although phones are not really like this anymore. i found the cord on the phone to be a bit short even for Adam to play with. This is a good toy which kept Adam amused for a while once he'd learnt to turn the dial. The big problem i found was that he ...  Read the complete review

A great unisex toy with a variety of play and learning uses and longevity. Care should be taken over how it is carried

Keeps children amused for ages. Perhaps not as sturdy as it could be

Colourful, tactile, good for stacking (and throwing without causing damage!). Are more difficult to stack after washing.
