Advantages: Keeps children amused for ages.

Disadvantages: Perhaps not as sturdy as it could be

We purchased this for our children last Christmas when they were aged 2 and 5. To be honest I was not sure whether it would be played with enough to be worth the price or not as it was an expensive toy. The fact that you got the additional accessory kit (on top of that already supplied) free with it was an added bonus and made the price slightly more justified.

I don't know why I was was worried it was one of the best thing we have ever purchased for them. They have had many hours of playtime together through this item.

It is a perfect height for both of the children and everything is easily reached. The fact that it has 2 sides is perfect if you have 2 children as it means that they can play together without getting in each others way and potentially falling out. One side has the hob which makes a sizzling noise, a deep fat fryer for the chips and a cooker with racking in it. The cooker has knobs which can be turned to make the children feel as though it is more like mums.

The other side has a removable washing up dish below a pretend tap. Below that is a dishwasher where the children can place the 'dirty dishes'.

There is plenty of storage on this kitchen. It has a storage unit at the top where they can put all the plates and then on each side of the kitchen there is a small shelf to place other bits. There are some hangers to hang the cooking utensils from and two smaller places to keep the cutlery. Most importantly when your children are preparing their food there is a play side table which can be kept down when not in use.

The kitchen itself is not massive but is big enough for what is needed and is perfect for people with little storage.

The downsides to the kitchen are that the cooker and dishwasher doors are slightly flimsy and as a result to not seem to shut properly, although our children have never noticed so it does not interfere with their play, but to me for something so expensive it should be perfect.

Also where the washing up bowl is removed it is very easy for things to get placed in their and sometimes it is hard to get them out. To be honest I don't know why it needs to be removed - in my eyes the more that can be removed the more chance of it getting lost or broken. I did wonder whether it was for ease of cleaning but I cannot understand this as with it being removable it means more needs cleaning!

All in all this is a good toy but whether or not it is worth the money I am undecided. We have had a cheaper kitchen in the past which was not as good so I would say it is better than the cheaper kitchens but I cannot comment on those around the same price. I would suggest shopping around.

Summary: Would buy it again
