ELC Wooden Trike N Trailer
Advantages: has a detachable trailer
Disadvantages: takes a bit to put together
For my youngest son's first birthday he received the Early Learning Centre wooden trike and trailer. What a fantastic little trike to have in your house. It is a trike you push along with you feet on the ground. My son is a little nervous of It yet as his feet don't quite reach the fall. But my eldest who is two and a half, well he just loves it. Just wish we had bought one earlier for him.
This trike and trailer is made from good solid wood which has no shape edges. It is a strong and very sturdy trike which you need for such a young age. The wheels are made from plastic but are a bright green colour so they don't stand out in a negative way. It is a lovely cute looking trike. I seem to be a bit of a sucker when it comes to wooden toys I think they just look and feel so much better. As well as the wheels other small parts of the trike are painted bright colours. But the main of the trike is plain wood.
The trike has four wheels. Two at the front which are close together and they swivel with the handle bar. The handles have nice round balls on each end. This makes it easy for a young child to hold on without their hands sliding off the end.
The age range for the trike is 1 to 3 years. As I have mentioned my son struggles sitting on it and he is one but he can't walk yet. So I hold him on it and push him about which he likes. But my eldest whizzes around on it. Actually he is on it now whizzing around! The trike is about 41cm's long and the seat is 22cm's from the floor.
Now as the title says it comes with a cute little trailer which is roughly 20cm's by 17cm's. It attaches onto the back. You slot a small hole onto a tiny peg on the back of the trike. My eldest has no problem with this. I will say the trailer does seem to come unattached quite easily to my son's annoyance.
My eldest loves the trailer on the back. It is a great bonus. What child wouldn't like to push their trike around with their favourite possessions. My son fills it with small items and tells me he is off to the shops.
This item does come in bits so you do need to put it together and it does take a while. If you buy it for your child for a birthday or Christmas I would recommend putting it together before hand. We found it to be a little fiddly. It has quite a few screws and you will need a small hammer. It comes with a 13 step instructions which are easy to follow.
This was a present for my son but the cost of this trike and trailer is £38 and is well worth it. At this present time Early learning centre have 20% of it making it just over £30. It is a well made trike to a high standard as always from ELC. It looks a lovely trike and is very pleasing to the eye. It has a simple modern look to it. We have only had it two weeks in our household but I can see it is going to be a firm favourite with my boys.
Summary: a lovely first trike I would highly recommend it
