When Jayden was born several people bought him teddy bears and similar items for his bedroom, one thing which we received was the Tesco F&F Elephant Comforter, in fact we actually received two of these exactly the same, one in the hamper I received from work and the other from a family friend. Me and my Mum had seen these Elephant Comforters in Tesco when we had been looking at the baby clothes and were never sure exactly what they were, I think being with the clothes confused us a little.

The Tesco F&F Elephant Comforter basically is made up of a soft pale blue furry square, on one corner is a soft cuddly elephant head and two soft and cuddly arms just below, the elephants arms and head is made from the same pale blue furry material that the square is made from, the insides of its ears are made from a white furry fabric with small pale blue stars on it, the eyes and eyebrows are stitched on with in a grey coloured thread, each arm has a small white furry oval stitched on the end with fingers stitched on in the same grey thread as the elephants face. The head and arms of the Elephant Comforter are stuffed, however the main square is not, both sides are just made from a soft furry fabric with nothing in the middle. The only other thing on the Elephant Comforter is a small white fabric tag attached to one of the seams which gives you the washing and care instructions, this could be cut off should you require.

The Elephant Comforter is made from 100% polyester and is suitable to be washed at 40 degrees, I was pleased to discover that this item could be put in the washing machine rather than washing it by hand as it meant that I could fully clean it should it be chewed or dragged around, it does state that this item is not suitable to be ironed however personally this is not really the sort of thing that I would iron anyway. This product only comes with a couple of warnings, one of which is to keep this product away from fire and the other states to remove all labels from the comforter before giving it to your child.

As I have mentioned the Elephant Comforter comes from Tesco although similar product are available from most children's shops but the blue Elephant Comforter is something I have only seen in Tesco as it is made by F&F an exclusively Tesco product. This item costs just £4.00, personally I thought it was good value for money, the comforters are very well made and of excellent quality, there are no small pieces which could cause a choking hazard for your baby or child and they are ideal for babies from a young age.

I would definitely recommend the Tesco F&F Elephant Comforter, Jayden has show quite a bit of interest in both of his and seems to like the feel of the material, they are designed to be comforting for you baby or child as they are going to sleep. Personally I feel they are good for babies and young children as they are easy for them to hold, as the main part of the comforter is not stuffed it makes it easier for little hands to grip, also the arms are not overly chunky again ideal for tiny hands to hold onto. The furry fabric is extremely soft against your babies skin so I can see how these would be soothing and comforting during sleep, the elephant has a friendly face which is appealing to children, for me being washable is extremely handy as I know I can keep it clean and hygienic for Jayden to play with. He finds the comforter easier to grip and play with compared to some of his larger teddy bears, being young he is not very co-ordinated so gripping what he intends to is more luck than anything at the moment but with these he does seem to find it a bit easier as they are not thick and chunky like soft toys. I would definitely recommend the F&F Elephant Comforter to anyone with a baby or young children.
