I bought this toy for my son when he was six months old and i must say it has been his number one favourite toy. He has played with it every single day and he is now 20 months old. Basically the train plays various songs and moves forward when you press the big green button on the front. (which also lights up) It also plays different songs when you place an animal in the train. It also has a smaller yellow button that makes various animal noises. It comes with a trailer which hooks on to the back of the train and it comes with a giraffe, an elephant and a monkey. The giraffe and elephant make clicking noises if you move any of their limbs and the monkey rattles and can swing on the bar of the trailer.
This toy is so robust. My son regularly watches it fall off the coffee table on to our wooden floor and it still has not broken (thank goodness!) I have total faith in fisher price toys as they are all durable and robust. This may seem a lot of money to spend on a toy but trust me it is worth every penny. I was so pleased with it that I bought it for my niece aswell when she was six months old and she loves it too. You won't be dissapointed. Requires 3 x C batteries that are not included in box.
One more thing - it has volume control which is a god send at 5am! :)
