For christmas with my son being just 6 months old we found it difficult to coem across toys we didnt already have for him passed down from his brother or sister. While shopping in argos we seen this and a giggle pal in the two for 15 toys so decided as fisher price is usually good quality we would give it a go.
It is a little smaller than I expected made of bright red and yellow sturdy plastic the shape sorter comes in two parts. The bottom part the bucket which holds and stors the bricks once they have been sorted through the top. This is red and deep enough to hold the blocks comfotably.
The top has 5 different shapes cut out square triangle etc for baby to push the shapes through and into the bucket. This also has a handle attached so its easy for little one to carry around. The bricks come in pairs there are 10 in total 2 of each shape all in different colours.
I think these bricks are really good. At 6 months it helps children with hand eye co - ordination and are just the right size for a baby to hold and play with. But as they get older they learn to use the sorter properly fitting the pieces into place removing the lid which is easy even for a young child to do and starting all over again.
Even my older children who are 2 and 3 like playing with these bricks they have used rthem to identify shapes colurs and like pairiing each brick with the matching pair. The bright colours attract the children and help hold there interest. It is well made and provides lots of fun and can be used by different age groups all round at around £8 I think it is a must have for young children.
Summary: A nice little sorter
