This is one of two baby gym mats I have for my daughter and is by far the best one.
My daughter's bedroom is jungle themed so I am always looking to track down items that will match the decor. Decorated with brightly coloured animals (frog, lion, elephant and a bird) on the play mat, and matching animal toys on the rail above, it is a very pleasant looking product and has strong and bold colours for baby to notice.
The Piano at the end is a brilliant idea and really makes this stand out from other baby gyms. At first baby may be to young to notice they are kicking and making sounds, but once they do, it is brilliantly entertaining for them, and gives them much more interaction with the gym.
All the toys on the gym are removable and can be used as portable toys for baby.
The mat is tied to the main plastic base of the gym and is easily removed to clean.
The only thing I didn't like about this item was the mat is rather thin, so I usually place a fleecy blanket underneath to make it more comfortable.
The design is very sturdy and safe, I have never had any problems whilst baby is playing, or while moving and cleaning the gym.
Usually retails around £45.00 but is regularly found in baby sales in shops such as Tesco, Argos, Asda and Very.
Great gym for a baby from birth to toddler, for boys or girls alike.
I bought this for my sister in law for her baby shower. It was £44.99 from Argos (this is the cheapest price I found on the market).
This activity centre is suitable from birth.
there are '3 in 1' removable toys on the overhead bar, so this is suitable as your baby gets older and develops in different ways. My niece is now 7 months old and she still plays with this and is as entertained as she was when she was just a few weeks old.
The piano is removable so you can take it with you, which has been a godsend when I have been babysitting and had no toys in my house for the baby.
This requires 3 x AA batteries, which we seem to go through very often.
This toy guarantees to keep your little one occupied for hours, and encourages better coordination as they get older.
The mat is difficult to disconnect so if there are any accidents on the mat it can be a pain to clean.
This also means that it is not great for storage.
Highly recommended for first time or new parents.
Fisher Price Discover n grow kick and play piano is the best thing I have bought for my baby so far.
It is already my favourite thing to keep my daughter entertained (12 weeks old and I am first time mum so buying a lot).
I had seen this product a few weeks ago but I was unsure whether or not to buy as the price was a bit to pricey at £42.50 on amazon is the cheapest, it is £56 in other places so was a bit of a bargain.
However my friend highly recommended this product as her little boy (11weeks old) loves it and is very active with his legs.
I decided to give in and get the mat as a treat as I knew my daughter would love it as she is forever kicking her arms and legs about.
It is easy to assemble but did come in a bigger box than thought and with size of the delivery box just about fit into a Ford KA boot
The play mat was well packaged and easy to assemble together. The play mat comes with 4 toys to hang on the arch and a mirror fixed in the middle of this arch with the piano slotted into the end of the mat.
My daughter had been on the mat for a few minutes and noticed the mirror she took an instant like to it staring at it the whole time she was on the mat. The arch also slots on its side so when your child is enjoying tummy time they can lift head to look into the mirror and still play with the toys.
It is colourful and suitable for boys and girls if you do not know what you are expecting or like me want to buy neutral so can keep items for the next baby.
The piano has 2 modes constant music or music and noise so when the child kicks a key it makes that noise and if not kicked straight after will play a nice tune. It is quite easy to push so does not make hard work for the baby to make a sound. The piano also has a button each side to press down so the piano turns on its side so your child can play when they can sit up :-)
My daughter was happy and content on this mat for just over an hour so is great if you want to sit down and have a cuppa and catch up on some work or TV.
When packing away the arch was easy to come back off however we did struggle to get the piano part back off so just carried it with that still attached. It is lightweight and the box does come with handles on so great if you can fit it all back in.
I have a family member who is due a baby in December and I have highly recommended this product to him and thought I would do my first review on the product.
I have now a few things to write about the product according to the box :-)
Suitable from birth and grows with them - Lay time, Tummy time and sit and play
Requires 3AA batteries that do come included which is great as some products do not offer this however does say when replacing to use LR6 Alkaline batteries
Power and 2 volume controls
Short/Long play music
Thank you for reading my First review and I hope this mat makes your child as happy as it has made mine :-)
