Advantages: Good for buiding skills, little ones seem to like it

Disadvantages: Bulky and not easily stored

I bought this for my daughters first birthday as I was looking for something she didnt already have, and she has alot! Because my Son had got on so well with the Stride to Ride Lion I thought this was a good choice.

It took ages for me to put it together. I found the instructions a little vague and there seemed to be an extra screw that I just could not find a place for. But once its together it seems very sturdy, which is good as the whole point of the toy is to encourage sitting babies to stand, and so it needs to be robust. It does take up quite a it of space, and cant be packed down again once its been put together, so I would recommend it for someone without alot of storage space.

My daughter loves it, basically its like a small helter-skelter for the three little balls that come with it. You push the ball in its mouth and it sets off the music, and then the ball lands in one of the coloured 'feet' at the bottom. There is also a music button on the top of its head, two little balls that can be spun and two handles, which I suppose are the ears. These are supposed to help babies to pull themselves up on.

The toy is quite good for building co-ordination. Picking up the balls and putting it the giraffes mouth is too advanced for my lttle girl at the moment, but she is practicing alot! Its also helping her understand cause-and-effect, putting the balls in makes the sound etc. I can imagine this will be one of those toys that she will play with again and again until she is bored of it, then she wont look at it twice. But for now its a great toy, good value for money (I paid £19 from Tesco as it was an impulse buy, but I have seen it cheaper since online) and it comes with batteries, which is always a plus point!

Summary: Good value toy to build skills and fun
