“ Brand: Fisher Price / Age: Newborn „
argos has this in the sale at the minute..... about £20 (oct 08)
We got given this as a present for my little girl when she was born. It has many different features including different music and sounds, light projector onto ceiling, rotating fish and soft water padded section that your baby can see while led in cot. Overall I have been very pleased with the mobile, my daughter loved looking at the fish and the music seemed to soothe her quite quickly. There are a couple of downsides, 1 being the light projecting onto the ceiling, I found it had to be very dark in her room to see the lights and even then they were not very clear - luckily my daughter wasnt worried about this and just had fun looking at the fish which were closer. And the other thing is the batteries do not last very long so we had to change these many many times. The product allows you to choose what you want to play so either just music or music and lights and it also has a remote to turn on (which we never used)
Overall I would recommend because my daughter did get entertainment from it
When i first saw the Aquarium cradle swing i was a little unsure as to wether or not it would be a good buy,i based this solely on it's price (£100)and that my baby would only be able to use it for 5-6 months.
When i collected the box ,it was alot smaller than i expected so i assumed that it would be in hundreds of pieces and a nightmare to put together, but surprisingly it was quite easy.
The swing is blue and white, it has a mobile with 4 soft toys(fish, seahorse, starfish & clam) which rotate around a water feature that also lights up.
The sounds, mobile and light can all be used together or on there own,or switch them all off and just use the swing. There is a control panel at the top of the swing which is very simple to understand. When you have the sound effects, mobile or light on these will stop after about 10 mins ,you just have to press the reset button to start them again.
The swing has 6 speeds but to be honest there isn't alot of difference in speed 1-6.
It has lullaby music(3-4)different and also wave, rain, and water sound effects. In my opinion the wave ,rain, water, effects are better than the lullaby music.
The swing can be used back and forwards or side to side, and it is very easy to switch between the 2,there is a large red button that you just push in to rotate the seat.
The swing uses 4 large batteries(size D) which i expected to last about 5 minutes but my baby is now 6 weeks old and i have had my swing for about 3 weeks and he uses it for 5-6 hours per day in swing mode, but i only have the sound, lights and mobile in use for around 1-2 hours a day.I have not yet changed the batteries and they show no sign of slowing down yet,so i am over the moon with how long the swing runs on battery life.
My baby loves his swing so much that he will sometimes cry if you take him out of it,but it is fantastic for putting him to sleep.I only wish that i had one of these when my other 2 kids were babies.
I was really dissapointed in this product. We brought it for Christmas for our little girl who is six months. For a start, the projector on the top doesn't work on our ceiling. To test it I have tried holding a blank piece of paper at different heights above the projector, it doesn't work on ANY of them, (please tell me if you have this mobile and have a way of making it work!) Secondly, the sound effects on this product are AWFULL! It has three settings: lullaby, a bubbling water sound effect and wave sounds. None of them soothe my daughter at all. The lullaby is tinny and annoying and the water and waves sounds are set at a far too fast tempo- its like water effects -the rave version!. The sounds are so fast they made me feel on edge and certainly didn't soothe my daughter! Her intital reaction to the unit was to turn on to her front and regard it with fascination. She then began to poke at it and mouth it. Whilst I was glad that it was stimulating my daughter it wasn't in any way soothing her to sleep! Now she regaurds it with complete bordom. Definately not worth 27 pounds for my Family.
I bought this product while I was still pregnant but I waited months before finally finding one in Toys R Us (or anywhere else for that matter) because the product was so high in demand. It has been used since Matthew was born and it has always helped him to go off to sleep, especially in the early days when he was very unsettled as he found it difficult to adjust to live in the outside world. The best sound is the lapping waves, it soothed him off to sleep with the greatest of ease. I am one of these people who take ages to go to sleep and it even sorted me out, I sleep like a log now!!!!!!!! Luckily for us he settled down very quickly and began to sleep through til 4 in the morning at about one month old but that doesn't mean to say that we still dont get use out of it, Its used almost every night except for right now cause we need more batteries. There is also a wave pattern projected onto the ceiling which I unfortunately don't find useful as the projections have never seemed to work properly. Other than that, I love this product and would recommend it to all new mothers and mothers to be out there.
This night light is in the form of an aquarium, it has rotating fish, three different light settings, four nature sounds, two lullabies and it projects a wave pattern onto the ceiling. This product is fantastic, it soothes and sends my baby off to sleep and when hes awake it keeps him entertained. There is a wide range of different sounds including two lullabies(Brahms and another) and the nature sounds (quiet and loud bubbles, wind and waves) and also a volume control and off switch, so you dont have to wait for it to wind down. It switches itself off after five minutes. It attaches easily to the cot and is recommended for children aged 0 - 36 months. Even at just 4 weeks old my baby really enjoys this product, and as it keeps him amused or sends him to sleep it is so helpful. I would certainly recommend this product to anyone, as a first time mum myself, any help with the baby is useful and this is extremely useful. The only problem I find with this product is the price, at £24.99 it is quite expencive, and then it takes four C batteries which I find dont last that long, mine lasted just over three weeks so the running cost is high. But the advantages far out weigh the disadvantages.
With underwater sights and sounds, this toy aims to soothe your baby. Can be attached to cot or can stand separate.
