I brought the Noah's ark for my daughters first birthday and has been a firm favourite ever since.
The set costs £35 or £47 (with the added animals) from amazon
It comes with Noah and his wife and 14 animals, the animal pairs includes toucans, lions, giraffes and many more.
Age recommendation for the ark is 12 months + the animals are chunky and perfect for little hands to hold and play with. As with the rest of the little people range this toy is very sturdy and tough, my daughter received this during a teething period, so the animals got chewed a lot, however you can't tell this as there's no teeth marks in any of the animals.
My daughter use to play with everyday up until when she turned 2, then she got older toys and hasn't really bother with this since, but she does sometimes get the animals out and play with them and the little people farm animals.
3 animals can be placed on the roof of ark, as all the animals have holes at the bottom of them
You can take the roof off the ark and the boat splits into two, so if there are a few children there's more space to play. There also a main door at the bottom level for the animals to get in and out and another door in the roof part, which is easy for little fingers to open and close.
The animals can be put away in the bottom of the ark when children are not playing with them, so there are no toys here and there, which is very useful. There are also wheels on the ark which makes it ideal for pushing and pulling.
It has improved her hand eye co-ordination, when she use to place the animals on the top of the ark.
This was a very popular toy with my daughter and still to this day she plays it, she has adapted with this toy, she will sit and put the animals in pairs, learnt the names of the animals and what sounds they make.
I thought this is a well-made and stimulating toy, and is ideal for animal loving children, my only fault is the colours of the ark are not as bright as the normal little people stuff, but I suppose it is a ark, which was made out of wood.
This is one of my daughters favourite toys. We brought it for her first birthday (she is now 18 months) and it has been worth every penny.
It comes with a selection of animals in pairs including zebras, lions, elephants, giraffes and lots more. One nice thing about it is that rather than just making two identical animals of each sort there is a male and female version, sometimes the female will be a little smaller, or a slightly different colour or have little rose coloured cheeks which i think is lovely touch. It does also come with Noah and his wife as well as some food for the animals and tools for fixing the ark so there has been a lot of attention to detail.
there are little perches the animals can sit on and the ark opens up, there is also a little gate at the top and a door into the ark that lowers to the ground so the animals can climb inside!
Our daughter loves taking all the animals out and then putting them back inside and has just started learning her animal sounds so this has been fantastic for going through them one by one and asking 'what noise does the elephant make?' etc.
When it arrived there was a smudge of black ink on one of the lions, we called customer service and unfortunately the couldn't replace the lion (it was hardly noticeable and we were just being a bit picky in all honesty) but they were great and sent us out a set of animals from the farm set instead as a good will gesture and so we ended up with a pig, sheep, farmer etc.
The door to the ark and the gate have come off a couple of times but we have managed to get them back on easily enough.
This is a fantastic product, we love it and so does our little girl!
I would recommend this to anyone looking for something to keep the little ones amused and help them learn animal names.
Our little girl is now one, and for her first birthday she received a couple of toys from the Fisher Price Little People range, which I thought was perfect, as some of her toys were starting to seem a little babyish. The FIsher Price Little People range are designed for children from 12 months plus, so this was a perfect present for a first birthday, as it can be a toy my daughter grows with. One of the toys from the Fisher Price LIttle People range that she received was this beautiful Noah's Ark set, which I have seen for sale in Argos for just under £30.
This Noah's Ark is solidly made so should be pretty durable. The roof of the ark can be lifted off, and the actual body of the ark can be opened up, using the little button at the side. THis is too difficult at this stage for my daughter to do by herself, but she will be able to do this as her motor skills develop. The animals can be taken in and out of the ark through the trap door on the deck of the ark, the door that opens down to form a ramp on one side of the ark, and the three open windows on the other side of the ark body.
This set includes a Mr Noah, and Mrs Noah as well as a flag, that can be flown on the roof of the ark, and food supplies for the people and animals. There is a good range of animals, and I liked the fact that as well as being two of each animal, which would be expected, it was easy to tell the male and female animal as the male is always that little bit bigger. For instance the male giraffe is slightly taller than the female giraffe.
My daughter has been fascinated with this ark since she got it. She loves taking the animals in and out of the ark trapdoor and likes setting all the pairs of animals out. Even Mr Noah usually gets a good chew when the teeth are bothering her, and the figurines that come with the toy are quite rubbery and soft.
All in all, this is a fabulous looking toy, that may not be all lights and sounds but should instead be a long lasting toy that shouldn't date like many electrical based toys. THere is a good range of animals, male and female, and the toy is bright and colourful and very well made. I can see my daughter getting at least a couple of years out of this toy!
I am sure as a child you owned or played with a Fisher Price little people toy. Mine was the Circus Train with the Carriages. What joy I had with that toy.
As a mum to 3 children I spend a lot of time playing with them, I am also a big believer in role play and this toy lets you do that in bucket loads. While all the technology makes newer toys mesmerizing, I think that you can't beat the good old fashioned classics.
This Noah's ark was actually bought about 3 years ago and is still going strong, even after hours of play. Purchasing this now on Amazon will set you back the better part of £30.00 but I can guarantee it's worth the money.
This sturdy Plastic ark is brightly coloured with plenty of little details to it so that, even as an adult I seem to find something new each time. It comes with pairs of animals, Mr and Mrs Noah, Bales of food and a water barrel. The actual ark's design is excellent(in my opinion), the roof has a gateway at the top for you to incorporate into play. The main body has windows which the animals can look out of, on the other side a door/ramp that opens ,the roof lifts off and then the body splits into hinged halves allowing for a variety of uses during play. The inside is very detailed with straw on the floor, grain, wood planks with nails etc. The ark actually has small wheels on the base which makes it excellent for pushing around the floor, even when loaded with all the figures in.
The figures all have the standard hole in the bottom allowing you to place them on the roof but, If you have other Little People Toys these can be used with them as well. My daughter regularly has the peacock driving the bus or the Giraffe as a mechanic.
This has been used as a shape sorter, a zoo, a ship with animal pirates - the possibilities are endless and I love the fact that my 11 month old is now playing with it as well. It has helped with animal recognition and my 5 year old loves re-telling the story of Noah.
This sturdy, durable ark is, in my opinion a must have for imaginative play. And if you have children i guarantee this will get hours of play.
One of the additions to my sons toy collection this Christmas was the Fisher Price Noah's Ark. It's part of the 'Little People' range that Fisher Price run and carries many of the characteristics of this range.
My little boy loved playing with this when we went to my best friend's house as her daughter already had it so I knew in advance I wanted to buy one of his own. I'm glad I knew this in advance because towards Christmas the prices were silly expensive due to the unavilability of the ark. In fact some sellers using the Amazon Marketplace are still asking £60 for this set which is very unrealistic. Argos seem to be the only brand retailer carrying this at the moment and they are charging a respectable £28.99 for it. I bought mine from Amazon before they sold out and paid £35.99 for it which is more in line with what it should be. I just wanted to point out what is the right amount to pay for this toy and what is not.
The ark itself comes boxed and fully assembled, all the stickers etc were already placed so there literally wasn't much to do to it before it could be played with. The only thing we needed to do was remove the plastic bags that contained the animals which delighted my son as he was very eager to play!
I paid a little more than normal because I bought the Noah's Ark Set which came with "extra animals". Usually you will get 14 animals with this but with the extra animal set you get another three making 17 animals. As well you get Noah and his wife and three crate's of food and water for your animals. Following on from the song and the Bible story the animals come in pairs, with one male and one female of each. Fisher Price have distinguished this by flushing pink the female animals cheeks and ears! This is such a cute detail but something almost all children will overlook. For me though, an adorable little extra! In fact my only critism of the toy on the whole is with the extra three animals-three being an odd number means they aren't paired up. I loved that this toy follows the Bible story/song "the animals went in two by two hurrah..." so having three individual animals spoils that cohesion. I would have preffered one or two "extra" pairs instead. But hey maybe I'm being picky!
The ark comes in two pieces, a base and a top which rest snuggly in place until moved. The base has wheels so that it can be pushed around on the floor while being played with which my son loves. It's really easy to roll around as the wheels are quite loose and shallow andcombined with the weight (or lack of) to the toy it's nice to be able to watch my son push it around the floor then stop to unload the animals etc. The base opens at the push of a button and opens wide rather than seperating in to two pieces. I like this as it means I don't have to worry about tracking down numerous pieces when tidying up! Inside is designed to look exactly like the ark-floor covered in hay with a few special sections for the animals. There is also a fold down door that creates a ramp and three large window style holes that are big enough to allow the animals to be put through them. When you put the top back on it all clicks in to place with minimal effort. Designed to look like the top of a boat their is floor decking and a half gated section to provide shelter for the animals. The roof of the shelter features three round style pegs which on further inspection I realised allowed animals to be placed here. All the animals and the two characters have matching round holes underneath which means you can sit them on top of the roof and swap them around etc. My son loves to do this as he's at the stage of taking things off/putting them back on.
In accordance with all Fisher Price toys the attention to detail with this ark is brilliant. The colours are right and imaginative and the detail on the animals is cute without being too much stimulation for your little one. I also highly rate Fisher Price for the way their toys withstand play so well. My son is still young so he often slams things around without knowing he could cause damage to them. This ark has had it's fair share of bashes on the kitchen floor and I don't worry (too much!) about it's durability. In fact I worry more about the kitchen floor! It's not a flimsy toy and because it's designed to be suitable for children aged 12 months and up, I guess their behavior has been aknowledged when manufactured.
Another thing I love about this particular toy is that all the pieces store nicely inside when it's not being used. As any parent will know clearing up the playroom can drive you to tears and knowing I can quickly scoop all these pieces up and keep them together is great for me and means that my son doesn't very often have to hunt for pieces as we keep them together.
Overall we would rate this five stars. I'm so happy with this toy, it's bright, it's fun and it's something that my son and other children can enjoy for years as it's not age restrictive. I find figure type toys very equally enjoyed by pre-school children of all ages. It doesn't need batteries and I don't worry about it breaking. It's a lovely toy that allows children to discover animals and as your child grows I can imagine the fun that can be had when they are old enough to know the story behind the toy, giving it some depth and making it more interesting.
I would recommend this for pre-school children everywhere (if you can get hold of one!)

The usual retail price of the little people Noah's ark is around £30 but I actually brought this for the tiny price of £11 which I think for the toy you receive is a major bargain and I would actually pay full price for this product as the amount of play it has received from all 3 of my children makes it worth every penny. The boat comes in 2 pieces the lower deck and the top deck it also includes 14 animals 2 feeding stations Noah and his wife and flags to top the boat.
The toy itself is really well made the boat is made of durable plastic and is very good value and sturdy. The animals are also made of plastic and are just the right size for little hands. They have a hole at the bottom of each animal and over the boat on the top deck and on the roof of the boot are little station where the animals can be fitted and sit well. These are great for the birds that you receive in the set and also the flags you receive as they can be flown up high and there is no need to hold them while little one plays with the rest of the animals on the boot.
There is a door at the bottom level so you can put animals in and out and also on the top of the deck is a roofed area which has a gate either side for animals to pass through. These are very sturdy and unlike a lot of toys they stay intact no matter how much little one plays with them which I think is great as it means it does not need to be put on over and over again.
The bottom of the ark has wheels on it so that it can be pulled around easily by little one. It works well on carpet but even better on our wooden flooring my daughter likes to push the ark and see how far she can get it to go.
My only downside to this toy is the packaging it comes in. As with a lot of children's toys it is over the top and too much for the small toy that comes inside. Each animal has a packet and then a box within a box all tied in together which can mean it will be time consuming opening took me around 10 minutes.
Age recommendation for this toy is 12 months plus which I think is a good guide as the animals are chunky and safe for little hands to hold and my 18 month old son loves it. It also suits older children as my little girl was the one who received this as a gift and she loves it playing with the animals and putting them in and out the ark. My eldest son who is 4 also likes to play we used this toy as an aid to tell him about the story of Noah and his ark and he uses it to rein act what happened and something changes each time it really pulls on his imagination.
We have had this since January last year and it has been such a big hit as all toys can be stored inside the ark they get kept safe and I don't no find pieces scattered all over the set is all made of plastic so not only durable but also very easy to wipe clean. The animals can be used with or without the ark and the ark itself comes apart very easily to make 2 play stations so you could split the animals and the ark and then 2 children can play as there is only 1 door to the lower floor and 1 gate it can be rather difficult for them to play together.
For my eldest daughters first birthday we decided to buy her this set as we thought it would encourage make believe play, we paid £19.99 for it three years ago so i am actually quite shocked that when I have just looked up the current price it sells at £27.99, an £8 rise in 3 years on a childs toy seems quite alot to me.
The toy is part of Fisherprices Little People range and is suitable for little people from 12 months old. The toy came packaged in a cardboard box sealed at each end with a little tape and was a good sturdy box to protect the item, being held only by a bit of tape it was easy to extract from the packaging. Inside the box was an information leaflet, a book about noah, the arc along with 14 animals and accessories.
The arc is made from very robust plastic, trust me it has been dropped many times, the base of the arc is brown with a ramp which pulls down on one side for the animals to go in two by two and three windows on the other side which actually stand out a little from the boat although i say windows I actually just mean square holes. The base is very detailed and has the markings of wood that made the arc and even little dots which i guess are supposed to be the nails holding it all together, on the underneath there are two little wheels for the boat to be pushed along. Inside the base there is more detailing of the wood and then what looks like it is hay for the animals marked on aswell as some pictures hanging on the wall which are actually in different colours, one of them is a picture of noah and his wife, one is a picture of the arc and one is a checklist for two of each animal.
The top of the boat is made of green plastic and still has markings on it of the wood so I am not quite sure why it is coloured green, there are little turtles marked on the top and then there is a smaller exclosure which has a barn door on it although it is open at the other side. There is a lip door which opens upover allowing access to the main part of the boat without having to take the whole top off which has a little knob to pull it up but also a little semi circle area that is open so little ones are able to get their fingers in. There is a purple roof on the enclosure with thatch detailing on it, there are little circular bits of plastic on the very top for the bird to perch on which they are able to do as there is a hole on the underneath of all the animals.
The top of the boat can be removed from the base with a little red button which is hidden just underneath the top at one end, you simply pull the little button up towards the top and the top clicks off. Once you are just playing with the bse the base will open up so that it is still one piece but is now one long piece and this is simply another little red button which causes it to release. The buttons are easy to use and i would say that my daughter worked out how to use them from about 18 months old which I don't think is too bad.
Inside the boat there are Noah and his wife, these are both have little strapped sandals on and noah has a long beard with a dove on his shoulder and a staff in his hands. You also get 2 x giraffes, 2 x leopards or maybe cheetars?, 2 x zebras, 2 x peacocks, 2 x lions, 2 x hippos and 2 x toucans along with a tool bench, some food some water with 2 x fishes inside. All the figures have little people written on them at the bottom and are detailed, the males are different in one way or another than the females be it different coloured or different coloured spots there is a way to teach each set apart.
This set is fantastic, it teaches the story of Noah and his arc which I think is nice for children to learn and it is an overall brilliant buy. The toys are not damaged even after 3 years of play and this is a toy which has never been put away as she has stopped playing with it and now her younger sister has started to play with it too. Each piece with it is made of robust plastic but is not really hard like some toys and all the animals appear happy. This toy helped our child learn her animals and we have used it to show differences between boys and girls, it has been dropped and the pieces have been chewed on yet still a brilliant toy it really was well worth what we paid and even well worth what they are charging now, we will be buying more little people products for our youngest first birthday and I really cannot rate this highly enough.
My little girl recently received the Fisher Price Little People Noah's ark and it is such a cute little toy.
Fisher Price sell hundreds of little sets that include the Little People, cute little figures that are big enough for little people and fingers to play with.
The ark comes with Noah, his wife and 14 other animals. The animals are great as they do come in pairs which I really like as this stays true to the biblical story of the animals coming in pairs. Of course, there is not enough room in this ark to include all the animals that were on the original ark but there are enough to make it fun to play with and be representative of all God's animals. There is a male lion with a fantastic mane, a female lion, two giraffes, two rhino's, two zebras, two toucans and a peacock as well as a treasure chest and a chest with all the food packed on it. All the animals have a hole in the bottom of them which allows them to be fixed onto the top of the ark which has a open hut on the roof. I like to put the birds up there because I think it is the most logical place for the birds to be rather than a big lion!
The ark has different parts to it that all come apart. The top of the arc, the lid comes off to enable you to play with the two part separately. I like the idea of this as you can then reach into the bottom of the ark which is well decorated with straw on the bottom to make it look like actual straw and there are also pictures on the wall to make it seem a bit more homely. The lid like I said has a little hut with open sides and a door that opens and closes and this is one of my little girls favourite parts as she loves to open and close doors.
The bottom of the ark also opens up on the side to allow you to play with a wide spectrum. The ark has a trap door which opens and closes allowing the animals to walk up the plank into the ark ready for their journey on the water. The bottom section also has wheels so you can roll the arc along and play with it like that too.
All the animals are lovely and colourful and look quite lifelike and so it teaches not only about the bible story but about animals too. Fisher Price give you little ideas for play on the side of the packaging box such as, "removing the deck of the ark to find a sleeping place for the baby animals, pretending to be Noah, inviting others to join in the play ("Let's help Noah take care of the baby animals."), "Walking" baby animals up the steps of the ark and pretending to have Noah "talk" to the animals, as they may have heard in the story."
At £27.99 this makes a wonderful little toy or gift and is suitable from ages 1 1/2 to 5.
The little People range has been a huge hit in our house from the first set my eldest son received for his first Christmas. He got the zoo and from there we have extended the collection for him and now for his younger brother who is sixteen months. They both play with the set but in slightly different ways. My eldest has become more interactive with the sets using voices and actually pretend playing with it. Whereas my youngest is at the stage of just filling each little whole with little people, animals and cars! A recent purchase to our collection was the Noah's ark for my youngest son.
The Noah's ark is a lovely compact set as some can be on the large size for storage. It comes with fourteen animals, Noah, his wife and some accessories. The accessories are like little crates with items on top. One has vegetables on top of it. These are great for imaginative play. As you would expect with the Noah's ark the animals come in twos and they are lovely bright and colourful. The attention to detail is fantastic there are slight differences to the two animals so one can be pretended to be female and the other male. Although at that young age I'm not sure my son understands, but at least mummy does! All the animals and people are like all the other sets lovely and chunky for those little hands to grab hold of with ease.
There are no miniature pieces for little ones to get stuck in their mouths as the set is suitable for 12 months plus. As I have mentioned my eldest loves playing with it too and he is coming up to three years old. A family member of ours works in the early years of a school and she says the children are still playing with these sets when they come up to school. So I imagine these sets are to last a while. They are doing well in our house they have been used in our house since my eldest was eleven months old.
The Ark does come apart; the top comes off to reveal the bottom of the boat. This makes it a lot easier when tidying the animals back up. There is a door that drops down so the animals can go up the ramp into the ark. I find my youngest son enjoys pushing the animals through the windows on the side more though. He does get a little mad when they get stuck. The bottom of Ark actually opens right up to reveal detailed walls and the bottom of the ark is built up to make it look like a wooden bottom and hay built up. To open it there is a button that just needs pressing and it opens with ease. It is easy enough for any small one to do and then just clips shut again. My eldest really enjoys having it open and playing with it whereas the youngest gets mad he just wants to feed animals into it.
There is hours of play with this set and it is great for educational reasons. For a start there are the animals to learn and then as they get older there is the imaginative play. I have found my eldest son has a great imagination and this Ark can keep him occupied for a good length of time.
The great thing about the little people set is everything can be mixed up with all the sets. They all fit into each other. It's all about your child having fun.
As you expect with fisher price the set is strong and chunky and great value for money. It is becoming a little harder to find now, Argos sell it at £25. I got mine from eBay and couldn't be happier. Although it didn't come in the box it looked like new and had all the original pieces. It cost me £8 including postage and I would say that is an excellent bargain. There are many selling on eBay now and as Fisher Price has made these strong durable sets they are nearly all in great condition.
We first came across this brilliant pre-school toy about 7 years ago when my eldest daughter was bought it for Christmas. It was such a good toy we were delighted to see last weekend we could still buy it and purchased one for our god-daughters 1st birthday.
The main part - the Ark - comes in 3 parts. The bottom, which is the 'boat', which has a door that drops down for the animals to 'walk' out of, and also splits in half to make play a bit easier. You then have a 'lid' for the boat, and on top, there is like a canopy type piece. The colours are bright and cheerful, the boat is brown and the lid and all the co-ordinating pieces are a tourqouise colour and purple.
Of course, you couldn't have Noah's Ark without animals! The set comes with 14 animals - in pairs, of course!! There are zebras, lions, parrots and more! You also get a little play figure of Noah, and his wife, and there are a couple more accessories, like a table. All these accessories are a great size for little hands, theres no fiddly bits or any bits that are too small, they are just perfect for Little People.
The other bonus is that storage for the set is great because you can just lift the lid off of the boat, and all the animals and other bits fit nicely into the Ark, so you dont find lots of little plastic animals lying around everywhere!
Fisher Price have made this product so well, its not thin, flimsy plastic, it is sturdy and durable. My eldest daughter still has hers now, and it has been played with by her 2 other sisters also, and it doesnt have so much as a scratch on it, you wouldnt believe how long she has had it by looking at it.
When we pruchased the item last weekend, we found it came with some 'bonus animals' which included 2 cheetahs, 2 peacocks, and 2 hippo's. We paid just over £20 for the set and it is more than worth the money, its great value for a terrific toy!
Fisher Price Noah's Ark consists of 2 main parts; the bottom of the Ark (light Brown) and the Top of the Ark, including a little 'stable' on top (blue).
The two parts fit together with an easy to use clasp.
The base consists of 2 cut out windows, and a door (blue) which is hinged, to allow animals inside. Inside the bottom, there are moulds of other animals and the bottom is made to look like straw. There are also cute pictures of Noah and Mrs. Noah, a Checklist of animals and a picture of the Earth after the flood. All these are stickers on the sides.
Easily clips onto the botoom. It consists of plastic with a wood plank like affect. There is a little shelter in the middle with a blue hinged door. There is 3 places on the top to fix the animals too.
Included in the set are:
Mr Noah (with staff and dove)
Male and Female Lions (with snails on their backs)
2 Elephants (with turtles on their backs) with leather ears
2 Zebra with wool for forlocks
The Characters are sturdy plastic with a place on the bottom to fit onto the ark. Can be used in the bath
However Im not sure if the types and number of animals are universal, so best to check.
The use of the toy is limited without back-up from stories/made-up tale etc. but with a bit of imagination this toy is a great stepping stone for telling stories, learning animal names, colours, noises etc.
My son loves to bring the animals through the door (two by two). Its great the door and windows are big enough for a little hand to fit comfortably inside and put animals in.
Also quite small children can easily put and pull the animals off of the little places to put them on top.
I used this toy to introduce Noah's story to my little boy and he loves using the characters to explain about the flood!
However the blue door on the side of the base easily comes off and we have lost ours!
My son had this for christmas and we both love it, although at the moment I think I love it more than him. It does what it says on the tin, you get the ark, noah, mrs noah (does anyone know her name?) and a selection of animals in pairs. There are little doors, windows, things to open out and explore in it to keep little fingers occupied.
My son is 13 months old at the moment he just takes the animals out and puts them in, but he's figured out that he can get his hands through the windows. The inside of the ark is moulded in nice detail with lots of texture to run his fingers over.
The little animals are so cute and the perfect size for little hands. There is a nice touch in that the birds are colour coded pink and blue so you know which is male and female! The other animals are slightly different sizes for males and females and that little detail will make him think loads hopefully. They're all lovely colours.Little water and feeding toughs mean that as he gets older and does role playing games this toy will grow with him. There's no stickers, no paint to chip, it's all made out of plastic.
A great toy that should last him years.
this toy was recieved by our three and a half year old for her first birthday. It was the first LittlePeople toy that she had. There were 14 animals, Noah and his wife, a rainbow flag for the ark and three accessories. The top deck of the ship can be taken off, and the bottom can either stay together or open up to show the detail inside.
This toy has been played with quite a bit over three years, and has been played with in different ways as she has got older. Initially she liked the top to be taken off and would spend time putting the animals Our three and a half year old daughter received this for her first birthday. It was the first Little in and taking them out. As the animals are chunky, she found them easy to play with and they were also got chewed and were not damaged. They are also a perfect size for putting in a changing bag to entertain a small child at the doctor's surgery.
As our daughter got older she was able to put the figures onto the top of the arc, where there are notches for the animals to sit on the roof and top deck. The little gate can be open and shut, so she used to put the animal in and out and also started to use the ramp into the bottom of the boat. Eventually as her speech began to develop she was able to talk to the animal, and make up little stories.
When she received Happy land figures and a mat we were able to put this set in with it, and it became the Zoo. This worked well, as the zoo local to us had a boat which housed some of the reptiles so this fit in with experiences we have had. We were also able to learn about animal sounds, and talk about how the lioness and lion look different, and also how the peacock is different from the peahen.
We got this for our son for Christmas, he's 18months and really enjoys the fisher price little people range, and loves animals, so this seemed ideal.
The top deck detatches so you can see into the ark easily, (while at first a little help was needed to do this, he can now manage to do this on his own) there is alot of detail on the inside of the ark, including a nice painting of 'Mrs Noah' on the wall. The ramp seems to detatch very easily, which can be a little frustrating, but it does go back on again, so perhaps it is meant to?
Only the elephants, Zebras, Lions and Noah come with the set, but you can buy all the other animals seperately - if you can find them which I currently can't! The animals are great as they have different textures, (e.g. the elephants have large fabric ears, the male lion has a felt type material mane.) and they seem to get played with more than the ark itself as they are often combined into other games. Noah is just a standard little people character, so fits in all the other accessories too.
The ark has several perches for the animals to sit on the deck, and a shelter for Noah, otherwise the animals can just be bundled into the ark - which is what happens to ours at the end of play.
It makes no noises, so I have found it encourages my son to make more noises himself - which is a good thing! I think he will play with this more as he gets a bit older unlike some of the other toys in the range.
Your little one will learn to recognize animals and develop motor skills as they place the animals in the ark.
