A good toy if you can find it for a decent price

This was one of the many toys that my son received for Christmas. At the age of 21 months, this happened to be one of his favourite toys and maybe in fact one of mine! My first mission with this toy was to be able to learn the In the Night Garden theme tune. Sad, I know but having children does this to you, especially after three of them!

      *The toy*

To begin with, the make of the toy is Fisher Price who have a very good reputation as a toy maker worldwide. Fisher Price has been around since the 1930's and is one of the ten most recognised brands in the world. With this history and background in mind, it would be hard to go wrong with one of their products.
The product itself has a xylophone and piano keys which are able to play a full octave. The xylophone bars are multicoloured and attractive enough to entice your toddler. At the end of each bar is a little piano style key to press down. My little boy found this ideal to play and get his interest before he learnt how to make music with the bars and striker.
The striker itself is a sturdy plastic striker which has no small choke able pieces and isn't too heavy if the child was to knock themselves with it but still heavy enough to make a good sound. The other think that I like about the striker is that Fisher Price have decided to attach it to the xylophone by a strong piece of cord which is just the right length to be able to play the xylophone but not too long as to get it stuck around their neck.
The xylophone itself is placed on top of a plastic cow hence the name 'moosical piano to xylo'. I don't find the cow behind the instrument to have any purpose; however, my little boy loves this as he is an animal fan and loves the cows in the farms near our house.

      *Age of use*

According to the product description this toy is suitable for children over two years of age. My little boy has been fine with it and as mentioned above is just under two years old. All parts are secure and well designed for little people in mind. The weight itself is quite light despite the heavy xylophone bars and my toddler can carry it about and move it with ease.

      *Value for money and recommendation*

I would recommend this product. My son has absolutely loved it since he had it for Christmas and plays with it everyday.
The recommended retail price for this product is £ 19.99 which I do find over priced. We were lucky to purchase this on offer at Argos for £ 9.69 which I think is more of a reasonable price. This product has given my son many hours of enjoyment and was well worth the money that I paid.

The Moo-sical Piano-to-Xylo allows children to use the striker to play like a xylophone or press the keys to play like a piano.
