Advantages: long playtime life,entertaining
Disadvantages: maybe a bit pricey
Before i was even pregnant first time round while out shopping with a friend i had spotted this toy and fell in love it was sooo cute !! I knew when i had a baby this was going to be a definite buy......
The Piano is turquoise blue in colour on the outside and is fabric covered at the front but plastic at the back. The keys on the piana are fabric covered and are black and white like on a normal piano. On one of the keys there is a blue butterfly. At the top of the piano there is a yellow chick which has dangly feet and also wings that flap slowly to the music. This feature is what made me fall in love with this item. There are also lights that flash as the music plays.
There are 3 modes of play with this toy.You can either have it so it plays 10 minutes of continuous music which i found great for getting my little one off for his daytime naps. The 2nd mode is where you or baby as they get older presses the individual keys and they play out a tune. This one my son loved and he sat there tapping the keys the whole way through the tunes. The 3rd & final mode is where you press the keys and each one makes a piano key type sound so your baby can make their own tune. This mode i found was quite boring for a little baby and we didnt really use much.
The piano can be played with while laid down flat on the floor which is ideal for babies to have some independent play time but it can also be put into babies cot.The piano has tie on straps and can go into babies cot or play pen so he/she can kick the piano keys making the tunes come out. This i think gives the toy a longer life of playtime as it can be used right away from birth.
The peek a boo piano retails at £27.50 in most online shops but i have seen it still in toys r us recently for £29.99 so i think its definitely worth having a browse online.
The piano is suitable from birtrh upwards
The piano comes with batteries already included but if it was to run out then it takes size C batteries and you need 3 to power it.The batteries are insterted at the back and it is secure as you need a screwdriver to undo the battery compartment.
These are the dimensions of the piano below incase people would like to know....
Length - 36.8cm
Height - 30.6 cm
Width - 10.2 cm
Weight - 1.7kg
I highly reccommend this toy as i used it with my first son and now my 2nd son loves it too !!
Summary: great interactive toy for babies
