My little girl got this for her second birthday and she hasnt left it alone since! she plays with it daily and loves it to bits. its made of really really strong plastic which is a good idea considering my little girl throws it about something rotten at times but its not even got a sign of wear and tear. the little people are really good too. very chunky so little hands to can hold on and grip them properly. it plays music, its decorated really nicely and very child friendly as it should be. smooth corners, no sharp bits. the furniture and people that goes with it are very cute and fairly cheap to buy if i remember correctly all in all a great buy for a young child and would probably last up to about the age of 4/5 years if looked after properly as its very well made and easy to store and would give the oppotunity to pass onto other family/friends if wanted
As soon as I saw the picture for this product I thought "I recognise that!" I didn't realise it was actually a Fisher Price play set in general rather than one for the Fisher Price Little People though which is what our grandson uses it for. He got his from a carboot sale that our daughter took him to and it came empty but has built in features that to me, my daughter and the grandson all seem designed to fit the Little People. On the first floor there's a kitchen with a door that leads outside and the Little People (or Fisher Price doll figuires this comes with!) can walk through it. There's also a little hinged door on the fridge and even though the fridge is just a sticker, it's good for the role playing experience. Opposite is the front room and there's another door and a staircase leading up the stairs which our grandson just loves. Whenever we play Lego, he always insists I build a staircase so I thought it was very apt when I saw this. In the bathroom there's a little hinged toilet lid and the toilet is just the right size to fit a little person in. There's also a bath but this is a bit of a snug fit for Little People though they will get in there if you lay them flat. Finally there are two bedrooms. The parent bedroom has a balcony that Little People can walk out onto which is another nice touch and the bedroom opposite is in a nursery theme. We've put some Little People furniture in this including a bed the daughter made and some Little People official chairs and tables. The original shop bought set does come with some furniture though as well as some doll figures which are pretty much the same size as Little People from what I can see.
As some of you may know from reading my Argos op I love shopping in Argos and Index and am always asked by family members to provide a list of toys from these two catalogues an the Early Learning Centre as well for my children's birthdays and Christmas presents. My daughter has recently turned 1 year old (DOB 22/08/00) and my Dad bought her, amongst other things this great Dolls house. The age group is actually from 18 months but I think she is quite advanced and having an older brother she will soon know exactly what to do with it! In the last Argos catalogue it was £29.99 but in the latest one it had been reduced to £19.99. The catalogue description says This magical house has fun sounds. A lullaby plays, a baby cries, says mama and giggles. The house can be played with open or closed and has lots of fun accessories. Complete with a family of three to move in. Folds neatly for storage with a handle for portability. Requires 3 x AAA batteries. Now this playhouse may look like the ideal toy to give a toddler of 1 year plus but does she actually want to play with it? Yes is the answer to this and so does my son who will be three in October. He has the Fisher Price Play Family fun sounds Garage and the two can quite easily be played with together which is very nice for both my children. The house actually has a kitchen and a main bedroom on one side with a lounge room, bathroom and attic/babies bedroom on the other. The furniture or accessories mentioned in the description above are a table and two chairs, a highchair, a pram, two beds and a swinging crib. It is the latter that makes all the sounds previously mentioned. It also has a front door and a kitchen or back door. The family consist of a dad with glasses and a mum with a ribbon in her hair and a cute little baby. I can't wait for my children to go to bed as I love playing with this playhouse as I pack it away confession over. My children will not let me anywhere near it during the day! We were given a free video with this playhouse and it contains lots of animated little people which is what they call the figures that come with the playhouse and garage as well. This video is 25 minutes long and is called Fisher Price Play Family Volume 1 Big Discoveries. Callum and Lucy love this video but it does have a very annoying tune all the way through it. I am sure that I have seen other play family accessories in Woolworths, like more of the figures and cars and I might be buying them as this toy is such a great hit! If you do wish to see what this toy looks like or buy it you can turn to page 812 in the Argos catalogue and it is no longer in the Index Catalogue. The garage that I have also mentioned is also £19.99 and this is on the same page in Argos and on page 773 in Index.
This little house opens wide, with five rooms inside. Features include a nursery there's surprise sounds - when you press the top of the nursery monitor, you hear crying, ma-ma, and giggling sounds as well as a lullaby; a frige door that opens; ana a pott
