I was looking in my local save the children’s charity shop and saw a fisher price play family house for sale it was only a pound I could not resist it.
This house was for sale empty at if I had bought it new it would have had furniture in it. However it is a very nice house and I expect to be able to pick up some suitable house furniture somewhere.
The dolls house is identical to the one ion the photo and I can remember playing with it at several child care settings during my career with children. I have just looked on the fisher price web site and find it is no longer available, a couple of other dolls houses are though.
I am not sure when this play house was first available or when it was replaced; I do know it was available in 2001 at £29.99p

This dolls house is suitable for a child of 24 months for safety the manufacturer recommends. I found this out at Amazon who do not have one for sale but do have a minimum of info.
Cassie is 1 next week and she is really a little young to be playing with it.

This dolls house is about 30cm from the floor to the top of the chimney and the floor is 30cm x 24cm .
The house stands on a grass green base and is built of plastic the walls look like white flat planks. The house is hinged half way along one side wall and opens in two a back and a front portion.

The house is white and the front is a classic house front a pink door in the centre and two windows either side of it, there are 2 windows above them on the second floor of the house over the door is a small curved porch/ rain shield. The windows and door are pink the porch/ rain shield blue.

The back of the house has a double door entrance on the right hand side and one small window by it. There are two upstairs windows.
In the roof space there is a room too

Come inside the house with me there is a green plastic floor with an imprint of a round mat by the door
Some stairs are to the right side leading up. Opposite on the other wall is a bookshelf sticker with a picture of some audio equipment on it. There is room for doll owner to put a chair, a sofa a TV or maybe a small table in this area.
If you walk your doll to the back of the house they will find the kitchen. In the kitchen there is a fridge and a sink unit and a dresser that stand out from the room. The fridge door opens to show pictures of food. The dresser has pictures of plates on it.
Dolly walks up the stairs now. Above the entrance room is a bathroom. With a bath washbasin and toilet. The lid of the toilet opens. The bath would be big enough for a very small doll. On the opposite side of the house over the kitchen is the bedroom here is a bedroom plenty of space for a couple of beds, a cot maybe. On the walls is a picture of a dressing table with a lamp and another chest of drawers.
Now lets go into the attic, no stairs dolly just jump. . This room has pictures of a toy box with teddy. There is a big open dormer window in the blue plastic made to look like tiles.

As I said the house I bought second hand but when new did have some furnitureand some play people to accompany it, but any small dolls house furniture will fit.
I am sure when Cassie gets a bit older she will play with it. Her 4 year old brother probably would now.

I think a dolls house is a good toy. A child can play and re-enact real life situations have a dolls part in it. Give the dolls a bath. I think it is a good tool for play therapy good if your child is moving house you can help dolly put the furniture in a toy van and move it to another play house, put the furniture in the new house .Playing real life situations. . This toy is as all fisher price toys well made easy to wipe clean. I am sure this house has provided hours of fun and will provide more hours of fun for Cassie,
